Dear Nell

I was foolish enough to lose the little stationery I brought here from Egypt. Very many thanks for your letter dated 29th April. One is always on the look out for letters. I have sent you Field Service Post Cards as they go forward without delay. Also you must not expect long letters. They have to be passed here & the long ones chances are not so good as those of the brief ones. I am very well & so was Bert when last I saw him. No doubt you will hear from him too. I am glad you have put in a contribution for us in the erection of the grave-stone but am afraid you will have to wait sometime for payment as I don't know of anyway of remitting money from here. With regard to Aunt Katie's gift will you please make my contribution £2 & add it to the other debt. I was very relieved to hear from Dode that they had had good rain. I am sorry I cannot write of the things which would interest you most. I know you must have much writing to do & appreciate & am most grateful for your letters. Fondest love to you all. Your affect. brother. Maurice.
