Fig. 5 represents the stabling of the well-known motor-car owner, Mr. Evelyn Ellis. He places his pit outside. When this is done a wooden or metal rail must run along each side of the pit as seen in the picture, to prevent a car from being rolled in; when the pit is in the motor-car house this precaution is unnecessary.
