The climate of all this country is hot and moist with a heavy rainfall. This is the busiest part of the Province with the ports of Rangoon and Bassein and other thriving towns. Negrais once regarded as a promising port has long been abandoned.

Thayetmyo approximately parallel with it. Toungoo is still in the wet zone, with rainfall heavy in the south and more than moderate in the north. Indeed, even the southern part of Yamèthin, the Pyinmana sub-division, adjacent to Toungoo, has fairly abundant rain.
