Et ft nul Marefchal face autrement a la pleinte de chefcun qi pleindre fe voudra le Juftice lui ferra droit durant le terme. By 27 Geo. 2 TEM, Becaufe that Perfons .indi&ed of Felo- nies, Robberies, and Theft, in Times paft have removed the fame Indictment before the King, and there yielded themfelves, and by the Marfhals of the King's Bench have been incontinently let to Bail, and after have done many evil Deeds, and lien in wait to flay and evil intreat their Enditors ; ( *) and alfo Perfons appealed of Felony, after the Exigent awarded, have yielded themfelves before the King, and have been let to Bail by the faid Marfhals :'.' (3) It is accorded and eftablifhed, That fuch Enditees and Appellees fhall be fafely and furely kept in Prifon, as belongeth to them according to the Charge which the faid Marfhals fhall have of the Juftices. (4) And if any Marlhal do otherwife, at the Complaint of every Man that will complain, the Juftices fhall do him Right during the Terms ; (5) and in the End of the Terms, upon their rifing, the faid Marfhals fhall choofe before the faid Juftices, before they depart the Places, in what Town they will keep fuch Prifoners, at their Peril. (6) And in the fame Town they fhall * allow to them Houfes to keep fuch Prifoners # Hire them at their own Cofts and Charges ; and there they fhall Houfes. keep them in Prifon, and fhall not fufFer them to go wandering Abroad, neither by Bail nor without Bail.
