CAP. III. When the King prefenteth to a Benefice in another's Right, his Title fhall be examined. TEM, Whereas before this Time our Lord the King hath taken Title to prefent to Benefices at " the Suggeftion of many Clefks, where the Title hath " not been true, and by fuch Prcfentments and Judge- " ments thereupon given, the Clerks have beenre- 4«Ed. 3. f. ic, " ceived by the Ordinaries of the Places, againfr God " and good Faith, aiid in Depreffion of them which " had good and true Title to the faid Benefices ;"
- (2) now the King will and granteth, That at what
' Time he fhall take Collation or Prefentment from ' henceforth to any Benefice in another's Right, that ' the Title whereupon he groundeth himfelf fliall be ' well examined that it be true ; [%) and at what Time ' before Judgement the Title be found by good Infor- 1 mation untrue or unjuft, the Collation or Pre fen t- ' ment thereof made, fhall be repealed ; (4) and the Patron, or the PofTefTor, which fhall fliew and prove the falfe Title, fhall have thereupon Writs out of the Chancery as many as to him fhall be needful.'
