' VV Henry the Eighth, it was enacted by Authority of the faid Parliament amongft other, That no

  • Fine, Feoffment, or other A£f. or A£ts, hereafter to be made, fuftcred or done, by the Hu(band only, of

' Manors, Lands, Tenements or Hereditaments, being the Inheritance or the Freehold of his Wife, during

  • the Coverture between them, fliall in any wife be or make any Difcontinuancc thereof, or be prejudicial

' or hurtful to the faid Wife, or to her PIcirs, or to fuch as fliall have Right, Title or Intereft by the fame ' by the Death of fuch Wife or Wives; (2) but the fame Wife and her Heirs, and fuch other to whom " fuch Right fliall appertain after her Deccafe, fhall and may then lawfully enter into all fuch Mar ' Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments, according to their Rights and Titles therein ; any fuch Fine, FeofF- ' ment or other Act, to the contrary notwithftanding. (3) Sithence the making of which Act, ' Doubts, Qucftions and Ambiguities havearifen, that is to (ay, whether the Recoveries and Deeds inrolled, ' which be in Nature of Fine, and whereupon Women covert have been ufed to be examined, taken, had ' or acknowledged, as well within the City of London, as in many other Cities, Boroughs and Tow ' within the Realm oi England, fhould bind all fuch Women covert, that fhould happen to be examii ' upon the fame Recoveries and Deeds inrolled:' (4) In avoiding therefore of all fuch Ambiguities and The!
