' again or any Fart thereof at any of the Fair or Fairs called Sturbridge Fair, Saint Ives Fair, or Ely Fair. ' And that no manner of PerfoH or Perfons, other than the faid Merchant Venturers, Doggers or Fifher- ' men, fhould from henceforth fell any Salt-fifh, Stock-fifh, Ling, Haberdens, Lob-hfh or fuch other Kind ' of Salt-fifh, at or v/ithin any of the faid Fair or Fairs, whereof the Kind of the faid Fifh is ufually wont 4 to be laid upon Land at the faid Eaft Sea Side : And alfo that no manner of Perfon or Perfons, being ■ ' Owner or Owners of any of the faid Ship or Ships, nor yet any Mafter or Mafters of the faid Ships,

And where it was alfo enacted, ordained and provided by the ' fame Aft, That no manner of Perfon or Perfons fhould from thenceforth be reputed and taken to be a ' Merchant Venturer, to take Advantage or Benefit of the fame Aft, except his Adventure in the faid Ship ' or Ships to Ifeland fhould amount to the Sum of xx. li. without Fraud or Covin, as by the fame Act more ' plainly doth appear. Since the making of which Aft the Trade and Adventure to Ifeland hath much de- ' cayed, not only becaufe the Adventure is fo dangerous and chargeable to the Merchant Venturers, Dog- ' gers called Dcggcrmen, and Fifhermen, being now compelled to make this Adventure at their only Charges, ' where before the making of the faid Aft a great Number of Perfons of thofe Parts and other Places of ' this Realm did adventure their Merchandize and Wares with them, fame to the Value of x. li. fome v. li. ' fome more or lefs as their Ability did ferve them, as they yet would do if the faid Aft were not to the f contrary: But alfo for that the faid Merchants, Doggers and Fifhermen at their coming home, after their ' long Travail and Charges, can have no Port, Sale, nor ready Utterance for their Fifh. And where in ' Times paft as well divers Merchants of London and Coventry, as of other Places within this Realm, did ' repair and come to the faid Venturers immediately after their coming home, andfor ready Money bought ' their Fifh at the faid Coaft Side, and carried the fame Fifh to Ely Fair, Sturbridge Fair, Saint Ives Fair

  • and other Fairs and Markets for the univerfal Provifion of this Realm : Now the faid Venturers, Dog-
  • gers and Fifhermen be driven to travail and feek to the fame Markets and Fairs for the felling of their Fifh,
  • and in the mean Time to make Shifts for the paying the Wages and Charges of their Mariners and Ser-
  • vants, and abide a great Time before they can have any Return to their Advantage of their Adventure, to'

' their great Wearinefs, and like hereafter to be the, utter Decay of the Ifeland Fleet, if Remedy therefore 4 be not the fooner provided.' II. Be it therefore enafted by the King our Sovereign Lord, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the faid Aft be repealed, and all and every Thing therein contained fhall from henceforth be fruftrate, void and of none Effeft ; any Thing therein contained, or any other Aft or Afts heretofore made to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding. C A P. vm. Every Artificer of ths Myftery of Coopers may take, for every Beer Barrel by him fold, x. d. and for every Beer Kilderkin, vi. d. Whofoever fhall carry Beer beyond the Sea, fhall find Sureties to the Cuftomers. of that Port, to bring in Clapboard meet to make fo much Vefiel as he fhall carry forth. No Man in London, or within two Miles compafs, fhall cut or diminfh any Barrels, Kilderkins or Firkins, but for his own Provifion. No Man fhall tranfport Beer in a greater Veffel than a Barrel, upon Pain to forfeit yj. s. viij. d. for every Veffel. To endure to the End of the next Parliament. CAP. IX. TVapping Marfh in the County of Middlefex fhall be divided by certain Perfons a/figned, or by any fix of them ; and Richard Hill of London, Mercer (the Affignee of Cornelius JVanderdelf, who at his own Charge inned and recovered the fame,) fhall have one Moiety thereof to him arid to his Heirs. CAP. X. The Bill concerning the Conduits in London. The Mayor and Commonalty, &c. of London may amend decayed Conduits, and dig, and lay Pipes, and ereft new ones, &c. making Recompence for the fame. A Remedy for the Party whofe Ground is broken, to recover the Money taxed againft the Mayor, &c. The Forfeiture of him who molefteth the Mayor or any of his Workmen in digging. No Water may be conveyed away that is brought to any Perfon's Houfe. No digging in the King's Ground without his Li- cence. A Pound of Pepper fhall be paid for fetching Water from Hampjiead Heath. A Spring at the Foot of ' Hamfjlead Heath faved. CAP. XL The Bill for Knights and BurgefTes in Wales, concerning the Payment of their Fees and Wages. HERE the Knights of all and every Shire of this Realm of England and Wales, and the Burgeffes. of all Cities, Towns and Boroughs of the fame, be named, elefted and chofen for their Aflembly in the King's High Court of Parliament, as by ancient laudable Laws and Cuftoms of this Realm hath been ufed and accuftomed, at and by the King's Majefty's high Commandments, unto the which Knights- and Burgeffes their Fees and Wages be afligned certainly; that is to fay, to every Knight by the Day iv. s. and to every Citizen and Burgefs by the Day ij. s. or more, as heretofore hath been accuftomed, (2 j ac-
