THE Editor thinks it necessary to acquaint the Reader, that the Statutes inserted at large in this Volume, which are only abridged in some former Collections, are printed from Rastall's Edition, which, in point of Accuracy, is sometimes preferable to those of later Impression. Of this the Reader will find a very remarkable Instance in 31 Eliz. c. 7. "for the erecting and maintaining of Cottages ;" wherein the true Reading is restored and explained by a marginal Note. Some other Alterations have also been made, which will be taken Notice of in a Discourse intended to be prefixed to the last Volume.
