LV. And be it further enacted. LVI. And be it further eiiafted by the Authority aforefaid. That all the Duties by this Aft granted upon Application of < Salt, which fhall from time to time be levied and raifed, fhall be appropriated and applied, together with the Monies, i the other Duties by this Ait provided for that Purpofe, to and for the Payment and Satisfaftion of the In- j tereft Monies due, or to grow due at any 1 ime hefoie the five and twentieth Day oi December one thoufaiid fix hundred ninety-nine, to the Bank oi England, or any other Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corpo- { rate, upon the Tallies or Orders charged upon the deficient Funds before mentioned ; and in cafe there be ' any Overplus of thefe Duties more than fhall be fufficient to difcharge fuch Interefl, then the faid Over- ; plus fhall be applied to the Payment of the Principal upon the faid deficient Funds, in the like Proportions as are above mentioned, according to the true Meaning of this Aft, under the like Penalties to be incur- I red for diverting or mifapplying any the Monies arifing by the faid Duties upon Salt hereby granted, as are j to be incurred for diverting or mifapplying any the Monies of the faid General Fund hereby appropriated ' for Satisfaftion of the faid Principal and Interelt. And whereas for Monies lent or advanced, or to be lent or advanced, at the Receipt of His j ' Majefiry's Exchequer, by feveral Perfons, as well Is^atives as Foreigners, Bodies Politick or Corporate, ■ ' they or fome other claiming by, from, or under them refpeftively, have, or hereafter may have, or are ' or may be intitled to Tallies of Loan, levied at the faid Receipt, and have or may have Orders figned by

  • the Commiffioners of the Treafury, or fome of them, for the time being, or by the Lord Treafurer for the i

•' timebeing, for Repayment of the Money fo lent (with Intereft at certain Rates, or without Intereft) ' out of divers Taxes, Aids, Impofitions, Revenues, or other Branches chargeable therewith, and alfo ^

  • have, or may have, in their Hands, or PoffelTion, divers Tallies of Pro, or AfTignment, levied or charged, !

  • it is found by Experience, that many avaricious or ill difpofed Perfons, taking an Advantage of the Ne- j
