Anno nono GULIELMI III. any of all fuch hammered Silver Money (except in fuch Payments where the fame were by the faid firft recited Act directed to be received at a greater Value) in any Payment or Payments whatfoever, to be made by Perfun or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate, to any other Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate, at the Rate of five Shillings and two Pence for every Ounce Troy, fhould be, and be deemed to be a good and fufficient Tender in Law: And that the Refufal thereof in any fuch Payment or Pay- ments fhould be, and be adjudged to be a Refufal of fo much of the lawful Coins of this Kingdom, as fully and effectually, as if any fuch Tender and Refufal be had and made of the lawful and current Coins of this Realm ; which faid Claufes and Provifions, though neceffary at the Time of the enacting thereof, may nevertheleſs hereafter prove very prejudicial, and of evil Confequence;' Be it therefore enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tem- poral, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by Authority of the fame, That from and No hammered after the tenth Day of January in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred ninety-ſeven, no ham- Silver Coin mered Silver Coin of this Kingdom fhall be reputed or efteemed to be the lawful Coin of this Realm, nor nor current in be current in any Payment whatſoever, at any Rate or Value whatſoever, either by Weight or otherwiſe, any Payment, nor fhall the Tender of any fuch hammered Silver Money, at any Time from and after the faid tenth Day &c. of January, be, or be deemed to be a good and fufficient Tender in Law, nor the Refufal thereof in any Payment whatſoever be or adjudged to be a Refufal, of fo much of the lawful Coins of this Kingdom; any thing in the faid recited Acts, or either of them contained, to the contrary notwithſtanding. cfteemed lawful, II.
