And whereas it is a common Praftice in the faid Marfli, for divers Perfons, not refident upon the ' Place, to buy up great Quantities of Wooll, and tranfport, or caufe the fame to be tranfported out of ' this Kingdom :' tor preventing fuch Pradtices for the future, Be it further enabled by the Authority NoPei-fon Oiall aforefaid, That no Perfon or Perfons refiding within fifteen Miles of the Sea, in the Counties of Kent and fell Wooll with- Sujfcx, fhall prefume to buy any Wool), before they do enter into Bond to the King's Majefty, His Heirs the'se^fsfd'e^'ii ° Succeffors, with Sureties, that all the Wooll they buy fhall not be fold by them to any Perfon or Per- Kent OT s'un'cx" f^ns within fifteen Miles of the Sea ; and in cafe any Wooll be found carried towards the Sea Side in the unkis entied, ' Counties aforefaid, unlefs fuch Wooll be firft entred, and Security given,. the fame fliall be forfeited, and &c. the Perfon or Perfons offending therein fhall alfo forfeit three Shillings for every Pound Weight of all fuch Wooll. VII. Provided always, and be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That if any Aftion or Suit fhall be brought and profecuted by any Perfon or Perfons againfl any Perfon employed in the Execution of this Adl, for any Matter, Caufe, or Thing, by them or either of them done, committed, or executed ferfons fuea by virtue of this Aft, or any Claufe or Article therein contained ; that then and in every fuch Cafe the may plead the Defendant or Defendants may plead the General IfTue, and give the Special Matter in Evidence at the Trial, General llTue. that the fame was done in purfuance and by Authority of this Aft; and if upon Examination it fliall fo happen to be done, the Jury fhall find for the Defendant or Defendants ; and in fuch Cafe, or if the Plain- tiff fhall be nonfuit, or difcontinue his Aftion, the Defendant or Defendants fhall have and recover treble Treble Cofls. Cofts, which he or they fhall fuftain or be put unto, by reafon of his or their wrongful Vexation in Defence of the faid Aftion or Suit. Forfeitures and VIII. and it is hereby further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
