XXVIL An A£t to inlarge the Time for returning the Certificates of all Ecclefiaftical Livings, not ex- ceeding the yearly Value of fifty Pounds ; as alfo for difcharging all Livings of that Value from the Payment of Firft-fruits j and for allowing Time to Archbilhops and Bilhops, and other Dignitaries, for the Payment of their Firft-fruits. WHEREAS by An Aft made in the fifth Year of the Reign of her prefent Majefty, intituled, Jti Ail for difcharging finall Livings from their Firft-fruits and Tenths, and all Arrears thereof, it is S Annse, c. 24, provided. That the faid Aft, or any Thing therein contamed, fhall not extend to difcharge any Bene- fices, with Cure of Souls, the Tenths whereof were granted away by any of her Majefty's PredecefTors to any Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate, in Perpetuity, before the third Day oi Novetn- ber in the third Year of her Majefty's Reign ; which Claufe was intended only to fave the Rights of fiich Enforced by i Perfons who had Grants of Tenths from the Crown before the faid third Diiy oi November, and not Geo. 1. ftat. 2. otherwife : But forafmuch as the Firft-fruits of the aforefaid Benefices with Cure of Souls, the Tenths "^^ '°' whereof were fo granted, as aforefaid, were notwithftanding the faid Grants, referved to the Crown, and are now granted by her Majefty to the Governors of the Bounty of Queen Anne for the Augmen- tation of the Maintenance of the poor Clergy, and their Succeflbrs : And forafmuch as the difcharging- of the Firft-fruits and Arrears thereof of fmall Livings, the Tenths of which are not vefted in the faid Go- . . vernors, will be a prefent proper Augmentation of the fame;' Be it therefore enafted by the Queen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Cpijfent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Com- mons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled, and by the Authority of the fame.
