HERE AS by an Aft pafled in the fifth Year of her prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ah for the coniinuing the Laws therein mentioned relating to the Poor, and to the buying and felling of Cat- tle in Sniithfield, and for fupprcffmg Piracy, it is, amongft other Things,, enafted. That from and after the nine and twentieth Day of iSV^toKiifr one thoufand {f^i^n hundred and ieven, no Perfon ufmg the Trade of a Butcher, ftiould fell or offer to fale, in any Market, or elfewhere, either by himfelf, or any Servant or Agent whatfoever, within the Cities of London or Wejlminftcr, or within ten Miks thereof to any Perfon or Perfons exercifing or ufing the Trade of a Butcher, any fat Cattle or Sheep, either ' alive or dead, upon Pain to forfeit the Value of the Cattle, or of each Sheep fo fold or offered to fale as ' aforefaid : A^'nd whereas fome Doubts have arifen concerning the Extent of that Claufe ;' There- fore for the avoiding of any Difpute or Qiieftion that may anfe concerning the Conftruftion there- of. Be it enacted by the Queen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and v/ith the Advice and Confent of the' Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in Parliament aflembled, and by the Authority of the OncButchermay fame, That the faid Claufe, or any Thing therein contained, fhall not be taken or conftrued to exteaj '^"'^ •° ^""^'^f^ to the felling of Calves, Sheep or Lambs dead, by one Butcher to another, but that it fhail and may be Sheep^ or Lambs! That at any Time upon twelve Months Notice, after the firft Day of Augufl in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and five, upon Repay- ment by Parliament of the faid Sum of one Million two hundred thoufand Pounds, and of all the Ar- rears of the faid yearly Sum of one hundred thoufand Pounds, then the faid one hundred thoufand Pounds per Annum, and the faid Corporation, fhould abfolutely ceafe and determine : And whereas bv , another A6t made in the eighth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefty King William the Third, intituled.
