That fuch Corans as fnould be imported in Erfglijh built fnipping, navigated according to Law, ihould be exempted from paying the Two thirds Subfidy granted by the faid Act : And where.as by a Claufe in an Act made in the fourth Year of her Majefty's Reign, for continuing an ad- 4 Anns, c 6, dition'al Subfidy of Tonnage and Poundage, it was am-ongft other Things enacted and declared, That the Exception contained in the aforefaid Act, whereby Corans imported m Englijlj built Shipping, navigated according to Law, were exempted from the faid Duty, fliould be extended to fuch Corans as, after the five and twentieth Day of Afarch one thoufand feven hundred and fix, fliould be imported in Ships be- longing to any of the Subjects of the Republick of Venice, fo that they alfo fhould be exempted from Payment of the Two thirds Subfidy granted by the aforefaid Act ; any thing therein contained to the contrary notwithftanding : And whereas by an KQ. made in the fixth Year of her Majefty's Reign, for 6 Annae, c! 23, continuing the feveral Duties therein mentioned, the faid Two thirds Subfidies were continued for three Years, from the feventh Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and eight, with an Exception as to Corans imported in Englijh built Shipping, according to the faid Aft of the third Year of her Majefty's 3 ^"4 Annae, Reign, and no Notice is taken of the Explanation thereof in the faid Aft of the fourth of her Majefty's "^^ 5- Reign, as to Venetian Shipping alfo, whereby fome Doubts have arifen, whether Corans imported in Ve- * •'^°"^' "^' • netian Shipping ought to be exempted from the Continuation of the Two thirds Subfidy, according to the Provifion before recited in the faid Aft of the fourth Year of her Majefty's Reign, extending the Ex- emption to tnem : For preventing which Doubts, and in Regard it would be very hard to reftrain the Subjefts of Venice from importing the Goods of their own Growth in their own Shipping ;' Be it there- fore declared and enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the faid Claufe in the Aft of the fourth Year of the Queen's Reign, for exempting Corans imported in Venetian Shipping from paying the Duty of Corans impar Two thirds Subfidy, was intended, and is to be underftood, from the time of paffing the fame Aft, to be a in Venetijn perpetual Claufe attending the Contiiiuation of that Duty, and not Hm.ited unto the firft Grant thereof; -hips fubjea to any thing in the faid Aft of the fixth, or hi any other fubfequent Aft, to the contrary in any wife "•• '^""^• notwithftanding.
