That if any of the Subjects of her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeflbrs, of what De- gree or Quality foever they be, other than the faid Company or Corporation, or their Faftors, Agents or Servants, or other Perfons by them licenfed thereunto, according to the true Meaning of this Aft, {hall di- rectly or indiredtly vifit or frequent, trade, traffick, or adventure, into, unto, or from the faid South Seas, or other the Parts within the Limits aforefaid, contrary to the true Meaning of this Ad, or Ihall hire, freight, or fit out any Ship or Ships, or lade or put on board any Ship or Ships any Goods or Merchan- dizes whatfoever, with Intent to haunt, frequent, traffick, trade, or adventure into, unto, or from the faij South Si-as, or other Parts within the Limits aforefaid, contrary to the true Meaning of this Aft ; every fuch Offender and Offenders fliall incur the Forfeiture and lyofs of all Ships and Veflels which fhall be em- ployed in fuch Trade, with the Guns, Tackle, Apparel and Furniture thereunto belonging, as alfo all the Goods and Merchandizes laden thereupon, and all the Proceed and LfFefts of the fame, and alfo double the Value thereof, viz. one fourth Part thereof to the Ufe of her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeflbrs, one other fourth Part thereof to fuch Perfon or Perfons as will feize, inform, or fue for the fame, and the other two fourth Parts thereof to the Ufe of the Company or Corporation to be erefted in purfuance of this Aft ; fuch Forfeiture and Penalty to be recovered, with full Cofts of Suit, in any of her Majefty's Courts of Re- cord, in Manner as aforefaid. And for the better encouraging of the faid Company to be erefted in purfuance of this Aft, to drive Cole Owners of and carry on the Trade hereby granted to them ; Be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the all Iflands, Forts, ^^jj Company, and their Succeilbrs, for ever, fhall and may have, hold, and enjoy, to their own Ufe, and difcover^&c! f°r ^^^ Benefit of the Members of fuch Company, in Proportion to their Stock, and without any Account within their Li- to be rendred thereof to her Majefty, her Heirs or SuccefTors, or to any other Perfon or Perfons whatfo- mits : ever, all and every the Iflands, Cities, Forts, Towns .and Places whatfoever, which the faid Company, or their Faftors, Agents or Servants, or other Perfons, which fhall be employed or licenfed by them to trade, as aforefaid, or fuch of the Ships of her Majefty, her Heirs or SuccefTors, as fhe or they fhall think fit to grant or allow for Convoys, or otherwife, for the Defence, Security, or Carrying on the faid Trade, fhall difcover or find out, fcize or pofTefs, in any Manner whatfoever, within the Limits aforefaid, (except before excepted) and fhall be for ever the fole Owners and Proprietors of all and every fuch Iflands, Forts, Towns and Places, and all their Dependencies, to be holden of her Majefty, her Heirs and SuccefTors, in free and common Socage by Fealty, and rendring to her Majefty, her Heirs and Succeflbrs, the annual Rent of one Ounce of Gold for the fame (if demanded) and the faid Company and their SuccefTors fhall and may have and hold for ever the fole Trade to al! fuch Iflands, Forts, Towns and Places laft men- tioned.
