Cloth. purfuant and according to the Meafures herein before direiSled to be taken ; every fuch Perfon and Perfons that fhall fo oft'end, and be thereof lawfully convicted upon the Oath of one or more credible Witnefs. or Witneffes, fhall, for every fuch Neglect or Offence, forfeit the Sum of twenty Shillings for every fuch. Cloth to be recovered and diftributed as in this Act is afterwards provided for. Penalty of over- III. And be it further ena£ted by the Authority aforefaid, That no Clothier or Cloth-worker or any Per- fs retching, &C. fon or Perfons employed by him, after any mixt or Medley Broad Cloth is fully wet, fealed, and ftampt^ as aforefaid, fhall, from and after the faid twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and: twelve, ftretch or ftrain any fuch mixt or Medley Broad Cloth above one Yard in twenty Yards Length thereof, or above one Nail of a Yard in the Breadth thereof; and that every Perfon or Perfons offending therein, fliall, for every Offence, (being duly conviiSt.'d thereof before fuch mixt or Medley Broad Cloth is fold, or expofed to Sale) forfeit the Sum of twenty Shillings, to be recovered and diftributed as in and by this Aft is afterwards direfied'.. Method to be IV. And to prevent any Objection that may arife from the different Method or Manner of meafuring obferved in, any Mixture or Medley Broad Cloth ; Be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That from artd af- incafuricg, (,gf the faid: twenty-fourth Da.y of June one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, every Mill-man, Owner, or Occupier of every Fulling Mill, fliall have in fome convenient Place in his faid Mill, one Table or Board twelve, Foot long, and three Foot wide at leaft, whereon the faid Cloth fliall be doubled or creffed, and laid plain, with the Length of a Yard nailed or marked thereupon, to which fliall be added one Inch more, which fliall be ufed inftead of that which is commonly called a Thumb's Breadth, fo that the fame Length fhall contain thirty- feven Inches, to prevent any Difpute in refpe£l of fuch meafuring by the Yard ; and in • Default of fuch Table or Board being provided and conftantly kept for the Ufe thereof, every Perfon ne- glecting the fame, fhall forfeit the Sum of ten Pounds, to be recovered and diftributed in fuch Manner as- in this A£l is afterwards provided.
