For and upon all Silks fo printed-, ftained, or painted in Great Britain (Silk Handkerchiefs excepted) the Sum of fix Pence for every Yard in Length, reckoning half a Yard for the Breadth. SilkHandker- And for all Silk Handkerchiefs fo printed, flrained, or painted in Great Britain, the Sum of three Pence for chiefs. every Yard fquare, and in thofe Proportions for wider or narrower Silks. And for the better afcertaining, charging, and fecuring the faid Duties by this Aft fet and impofed Lord Treafurer upon all Silks, Callicoes, Linen, and StufFs, (except before excepted) which fhall be printed, painted, to appoint Com- fj-ajned, or dyed, as aforefaid, in Great Britain, within or during the Term laft mentioned, and for pre- venting of Frauds concerning the fame ; Be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That fuch Com- niiffioners or Perfons as her Majefty, her Heirs or SuccefFors, or the High Treafurer of Great Britain now being, or the High Treafurer of Great Britain, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the time being, fhall, from time to time, by one or more Commiffion or Commiffions for that Purpofe appoint, fhall be her Majefty's Commiffioners for the Receipt and Management of the faid Duties fet and impofed upon all fuch Silks, Callicoes, Linens, and StufFs, printed, painted, flained, or dyed, as aforefaid, in Great Britain, as are chargeable by this Aft ; which faid Commiffioners, or the major Part of them re- Who are to fub- fpe6tively, fhall and have hereby Power, by Commiffion under their refpeftive Hands and Seals, to fubftitute ' ftitute inferior and appoint under them fuch Receivers General, Colleftors, Comptrollers, Surveyors, and other Officers, Officers. jjj iA be requifite and necefTary for the Purpofes aforefaid ; and that the faid Commiffioners fo to be appointed, and all the Officers for the Duties laft-mentioned, fhall have out of the fame, fuch Salaries and Rewards for their refpeftive Services in relation to the fame Duties, as the faid High Treafurer now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the time being, fiiall think reafonable to eftablifh or allow in that Behalf; and that the faid refpeftive Commiffioners for the faid Duties laft-mentioned, for the time being, fhall, from time to time, caufe all the Monies to arife by or for the fiime Duties, during the Continuance thereof (the neceflary Charges of managing, collefting, raifing, paying, and accounting for thefe Duties excepted) to be alfo paid, from time to time, as the fame' fhall arife, into the Receipt of her Majefty's Exchequer m England, under the Penalties and Forfeitures, and Difabilities herein after expreffed.
