' the Croivn, It was enadted and declared, That the Hereditary Rates and Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, " '^' ^' ' and other Liquors, which were granted to the Crown in the tv/elfth Year of the Reign of his late Majefly 12 Car. 2, c. 23, ' King Charles the Second, and the Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, by the faid Act ' of the firft Year of her Majefly 's Reign granted to her Majefty for the Term of her Life (fubjeft never-

  • thelefs to fuch weekly Payments or incumbrances as were thereby appointed to be charged upon, and

' payable out of the feveral Duties of Excife before mentioned) and the Revenue of the General Letter- ■ ' Office or Poll:- Office, and divers fmall Branches of her Majefly's Revenues therein enumerated, and the ' Monies arifing by the further Subfidy of Tunnage and Poundage, and other Duties upon Wines, Goods,

' by Occafion of feveral extraordinary Expenres fmce the laid Aft of the fiift Year of her Majefly's Reign, ' divers Arrears of Salaries, Wages, Diet-Monies, and other Allowances, and fundry Debts for Emptions, ' Provifions, and other Caufes, have incurred, and grown due to her Majefly's' Servants, Tradefmen, and ' others, and do now remain unfatisfied, which Debts and Arrears do amount to a very confiderable Sum in - ' the Whole, and are properly chargeable upon the laid Branches or Revenues which were appointed for the ' Support of her Majefly's Houfhold, and of the Honour and Dignity of the Crown, as afo;efaid : Nov/ ' her Majefly's faid moft dutiful and loyal Subjefts, the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament afiembled, ' being defirous that her Majefty, in the Adminiflration of her Civil Government, may not remain under ' ' any Difficulties, in Refpeft of the Arrears or Debts contrafted, as aforefaid, and being therefore defirous .

« free. E X P." XXXII. And be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That all the Money lent^ and to be lent to her Appropriation.. Majefly upon one Aft of this Seffion of Parliament, intituled. An ASi for granting an Aid to her Majefly, ^,7 of me leveral he raifcdhy a Land-Tax i ?: Grtat Britain, for 11 " ' - ■ " , ^ , .- , , . , ,. .j...^, and fo much Money (if any fuch be) of the Loans made or to be made upon that Aft, or thereby and the Intereft thereof, and the Charges thereby allowable for railing the faid Tax, ftiall be fatisfied, or Money fufficient fhall be referved to diTcharge the fame ; and all the Monies lent, or to be lent unto her Majefty upon another Aft of this Seffion of Parliament, for granting to her Majefty Duties upon Malt, n Anne, Siat, .
