An A61 for allowing a Drawback upon the Exportation of Salt, to be made ufe of for the Curing of Firti taken at North Seas, or at Iflehnd. kERE AS the Fiftiing for Cod in the North Seas, and at IJleland, gives great Employment to the Navio-ation of this Kingdom, and breeds up great Numbers of hardy and induftrious Mariners for Defence of The Realm, and Improvement of Commerce ; and whereas the faid Fifhing Trade cannot be fo efFeftually carried on, unlcfs Salt for curing Cod taken there, may be had free of Exxife ; For the Prefervation therefore, and Incouragement of the laid Trade,' Be it enaded by the Queen's mofV Excel- lent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in , this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That the Officer of the Place where the faid Salt was Officer where made, and the Duties thereof paid, or fecured to be paid, fhall, upon Demand, deliver gratis to fuch •'^'^ Salt was Mafter of the Veflel, a Certificate, under his Hand and Seal, of the particular Quantity of Saltftilpped on "^^eVeMaL Board his Veflel for the North Seas, or IJleland, and that the Duties on fuch Salt have been paid or fecured f Certificate oT to be paid. _ _ the Quantiy III. That if it ftiall happen, that any of the Salt fo taken Salt notuAd, on Board for curing of Fiih, fliall not have been ufed for that Purpofe, it fhall and may be lawful to and f^ay be relanded, for the Mafter of fuch Ship or Veffel to land the faid Salt, fo as an Entry be made thereof within ten "o ^,^ =>" Entry be Days after his coming into any Port in Great Britain that he fhall arrive at, and the Duties paid down for ""^"^ ^"^f- the fame, before fuch Salt, or any Part thereof, fhall be landed or taken out of any fuch Ship or Veflel : And if fuch Mafter ftiall neglect or refufe to enter fuch Salt, in fuch Port where he fhall firft arrive, and Mafter neoleft- pay down the Duties for the fame v/ithin the faid ten Days (except in Cafe of his being driven into any '"?
