XVIL And it is hereby declared and enaCted, That the faid Affidavits, Affirmations and Certificates, Such Affidr.vrts^ touching the iaid Allowance to the Woollen and Linen Manufacturers a'orefaid, (hall and may be wiitten or f-^- "°' ^ * printed upon Paper not flamped or marked for any the Duties charged by any ACl upon ftampt Vellum, ^"'P'^ > '^<=- Parchment or Paper ; and that no Fee, Gratuity or Reward whatfoever, fliall be required, demanded or ta- ken from any the faid Manufacturers, for making any the Payments of the faid Allovi'ance for Sope con- fumed in the faid Woollen or Linen Manufactures, or for making or taking any the faid Affidavits, Affirma- tions, or Certificates relating thereunto (except four Pence for writing every fuch Affidavit, Affirmation or Certificate) upon Pain that any the faid Officers offending therein, fnall for every fuch Offence pay treble Damages to the Party grieved, befides Cofts of Suit, to be recovered in fuch Manner, as any other Penal- ties relating to the Duties upon Sope are by this ACt to be recovered. XVin. And for the better preventing Frauds and Abufes in obtaining the Allov.'ances laft mentioned, it Such Affi.-iavir is hereby further enaCted, That if any Perfon or Perfons fha'l, in fuch Affidavit or Affirmation, fwear, af- i-c faife, for firm or alledge any Matter or Thing that fhall be falfe and untrue, v/ith an Intent to defraud her Majefty, fcits treble the- her Heirs or. Succeffors, fuch Perfon or Perfons offending therein, fhall for every fuch Offence forfeit and lofe ^'■"=°f fl^= treble the Value of the Allowance for which fuch Affidavit or Affirmation fliall be made, to be recovered in o^^^""- like Manner (to wit) one third Part thereof to the Ufe of the Queen's Majefty, and the other two Thirds thereof, with Cofts of Suit, to the Ufe of the Informer orProfecutor ; and if any Perfon or Perfons, being Sf'^ond Offence: once convicted of any fuch Offence, ftiall again offend in the like Kind, and be thereof duly conviCted in ^'J""^?- any Court of Record at Weftmlnjler^ or in any the Courts of Scotland^ every fuch. Perfon or Perfons, for fuch other Offence, fhall fuffer as in Cafes of wilful and corrupt Perjury. ' XIX.
