XXVI. Provided alfo, and it is hereby enacted, That in cafe the Produce of the faid fcvcral Rates, The D Duties, Revenues and Incomes hereby appropriated as aforefaid, fhall at any Time or Times appear to be at '^ c Xf" ' fo deficient, that within any one Year (reckoning each Year to end at Michaelmas yearly) the fame fliall E " d j  ?, a ™ not be fiifficient to anfwer and pay fo much as fliall be then due for or upon the laid former yearly Sums, m"iu. ^ which are to continue till the respective Times before limited, and for and upon the faid Annuities or Sums of eighty-eight thoufand (even hundred fifty-one Pounds feven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, one hundred thoufand Pounds, feventy-fix thoufand eight hundred and thirty Pounds fifteen Shillings per Annum, and the faid other Annuity or Annuities, after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, and the Monies neceffary to anfwer fuch Demands of lntereft as aforefaid, and fo much as fliall be then grown due for or upon the faid Sums of one hundred twenty thoufand Pounds, and fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds per Annum, and fo much as is to make good the faid Deficiency (if any then be) of the faid original Fund, and fo much as (hall be then due upon the faid yearly Sum of four thoufand Pounds, according to this Act; then, and in every fuch Cafe, and as often as any fuch Deficiency of the faid Rates, Duties, Revenues and Incomes fliall happen, the fame fliall be provided for, anfwered and made good by and out of the then next Aids to be granted in Parliament. XXVII. A ' more of them, and directed, l,„ ment of the faid lntereft as aforefaid, to iffue to fuch Perfon or Perfons, as he or they fliall think fit to in- toditcharge In. truft in that Behalf, and upon Security to be given to his or their good Liking, fuch Sum or Sums of tereft tQ the Money by way of Impreft, and upon Account, from Time to Time, and by fuch Proportions at a Time, S e n rers CI the as he or they fhall find neceffary for difcharging all the faid intereft grown due and payable, or to grow due ' s> and payable, at the refpective Rates aforefaid, upon the faid Bills, in purfuauce of this Act; the faid ln- tereft to be difcharged in the Manner and Form herein after- mentioned ; and that any Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate, having in their Cuftody any of the faid Exchequer-bills, upon which fix Months Intereft or more fhall be due and unpaid, fhall and may, from Time to Time, demand and receive of the Perfon and Perfons to whom the faid Monies fliall be imprefted for Payment of Intereft as aforefaid, all the Intereft fo due and unpaid' upon fuch Exchequer-bills, who are hereby directed and required to pay and di (charge the fame, upon fuch Demand, out of the Money to be imprefted to him or them for that Purpofe. XXVTII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Exchequer-bills amount- The B:! - s '°ke ing to two Millions five hundred fixty-one thoufand and twenty-five Pounds as aforefaid, fliall be received currl ' nt ,n , p v- and taken by, and (hall pals and be current to all and every Receivers and Collectors in Greet Britain of^|5«cr 'etc ' the Cuftoms, Excife, or of any Revenue, Supply, Aid or Tax whatfoever, already granted, due or pay- able, or which fliall or may hereafter be granted, due or payable to his Majefty, his Heirs and Succelibrs, and alfo at the Receipt of the Exchequer, from the (aid Receivers or Collectors, or from any other Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate whatfoever, making any Payments or Loans there to his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors, for or upon any Account, Caufe or Occafion whatfoever, until the full paying off and cancelling the (aid Bills, and every of them, according to the Purport and true Meaning of this Act ; Receivers, &v. and that fuch of the fame Bills as fhall fo be received at the Exchequer, fhali and may be locked up and ^ ?; d " H 5 ; lll< feared as Cafh, according to the Courfe of the faid Exchequer fettled and eftablifiied by Law for locking | n 'th e iiHand up and fecuring Money in Specie received there ; and that all and every Receivers and Collectors in Great Britain of the Cuftors, Excife, or of any Revenue, Aid, Tax or Supply whatfoever, already granted, due or payable, or which (hall or may hereafter be granted, due or payable to his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors, fliall and are hereby directed and required, out of any current coined Money as fliall then be in their Hands of fuch Revenue, Aid, Tax or Supply, to pay fuch of the fad Bills amounting to two Millions five hundred fixty-one thoufand and twenty-five Pounds, as fliall be brought unto them reipeciively by any Perfon or Perfons defiring to have Money for the fame ; and in cafe any fuch Receiver or Coiieftor Re ( J, ' n 3 m3 Tt fhall neglect or refufe to exchange fuch Bills for Ready Money by the Space of twenty-four Hours, then Ji<!
