That no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, except fuch Perfons who did actual Ser- vice' in fome Regiment, Troop or Company. ■2. That no Perfon having any other Place or Imployment of Profit, Civil or Military, under his Ma- icfty, {hall have or receive any Part of the faid Half-pay. 4. That no Chaplain of any Garrifon or Regiment, who has any ecclefiaftical Benefice, or other Pre- ferment in Great Britain or Ireland, fhall have or receive any Part of the faid Half-pay. c. That no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who hath refigned his Commiffion, and has had no Commiffion fince. _„,_..,. 6. That no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any Perfon by virtue of any Warrant or Appointment, except to fuch Perfons who would have been otherwife entitled to the fame as reduced Officers. 7. And that no Part of the fame ihall be allowed to any of the Officers of the five Regiments of Dra- goons, and eight Regiments of Foot, lately difbanded in Ireland, except to fuch as were lately taken off* the Eftablifhment of Half-pay in Great Britain. Services for which Provifion is made, or intended to be made by this Act, or by the foregoing Claufes of ' &c " Appropriation therein contained, fo as the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury, or High-treafurer for the Time being, do take effectual Care, and they are hereby enjoined and required to take effectual Care, that fuch Sum or Sums (Part of the faid Land-tax, or Duties on Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, or Part of the Loans authorized to be made feverally thereupon) as fhall be equal to the Sum or Sums of the faid Ad- vance-money fo applied to the faid publick Ufes or Services, be carefully referved and kept apart, to be applied for or towards difcharging the faid Debts and Incumbrances, according to fuch Act or Acts of Parliament as fhall hereafter be made or paffed in that Behalf; any Thing in this or any other Act or Acts of Parliament contained to the contrary notwithftanding. _ ^ ' XL VII. And whereas, by an Act of Parliament made in the fourth Year of his Majefty's Reign, for Ti^Omphis 3 ' ' continuing the Duties on Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, for the Service of the Year one thoufand (even of 94,0001. by ' hundred and eighteen, feveral Supplies which had been granted to his Majefty, as is therein mentioned, the Malt Aft, '■ were appropriated to feveral Ufes and Purpofes therein expreffed; amongft which any Sum or Sums not 17 iS. granted < exceeding the Sum of ninety-four thoufand Pounds, upon account of Half-pay for the Year one thou- c'ers^mTn be ' land feven hundred and eighteen, were intended to be paid to the reduced Officers of his Majefty's Land- difpofed to fuch ' forces and Marines, fubject nevertheless to fuch Rules to be obferved in the Application of the faid Half- maimedOfficers, ' pay as in and by the fame Act were prefcribed in that Behalf, and the Deficiencies of the faid Supplies &c. as his Ma- c are ma( j e good, or enacted to be made good by Grants in this Seffion of Parliament:' Now it is hereby pro- vided enacted and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That fo much of the faid Sum of ninety-four thoufand Pounds as is or fhall be more than fufficient to fatisfy the faid reduced Officers, according to the faid Rules by the faid former Act prefcribed to be obferved in the Application thereof, or any Part of fuch Overplus, {hall and may be difpofed to fuch Officers who were maimed, or loft their Limbs in the Late Wars, or to fuch ethers as, by reafon of their long Service, or otherwife, his Majefty ihall judge to be proper Objects of Charity, who are not ftrictly qualified within the Rules by the faid recited Act prefcribed to receive the fame, or to the Widows or Children of fuch Officers whom his Majefty fhall judge to be proper Objects of Charity, according to fuch Warrant or Warrants under his Majefty's Royal Sign manual as fhall befign- cd in that Behalf; any Thing in this or the faid former Act to the contrary notwithftanding. 3 ' XLVIII. jefly ihall ap point,
