An Act to repeal fo much of the Act, intituled, An Att for preventing Frauds, and regulating Abufes in his Majeflfs Cuftoms, palled in the thirteenth and fourteenth Years of King Charles the Second, as relates to the prohibiting the Importation of Deal-Boards and Fir-Timber from Germany. I. 1T7HEREAS by a Claufe in an Act of Parliament paffed in the thirteenth and fourteenth 13 &I + Car - "- VV Years of the Reign of King Charles the Second, intituled, An Acl for preventing Frauds and c ' 11 ' ^•^J* regulating Abufes in his Majefly's Cufloms, Deal-Boards and Fir-Timber are (among other Things therein mentioned) prohibited to be imported from the Netherlands or Germany, upon any Pretence whatfoever, in any Sort of Ships or Veffels whatfoever, upon Penalty of the Lofs of all the faid Goods, as alfo the Ship and Furniture : And whereas Fir-Timber, Fir-Planks, Mails, and Deal-Boards, are not only found to be ufeful and neceffary in the Building and Refitting his Majefly's Ships of War, and other Ships and Veffels, but the fame have of late Years been, and now are very much ufed in and about all manner of Buildings, which hath occafioned fo great a Demand for, and Confumption of the faid Com- modities, that the Price thereof, at the Places from whence the fame may now be lawfully imported, is very much increafed, to the Prejudice of Trade, which may be remedied, if the faid Prohibition be taken off, whereby the faid Commodities will become more plentiful, and the Price thereof much reduced :' Be it therefore enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the A f ter Au , r Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Autho- 1720. ib°muck rity of the fame, That from and after the firft Day of Augufl which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one of the recited thoufand feven hundred and twenty, fo much of the faid Acl:, intituled, An Acl for preventing Frauds, and^f 1 as P ron '- regidating Abufes in his Majefly's Cifloms, as prohibits the Importation of Deal-Boards and Fir-Timber from t ^J n Q f Deal- Germany only, fhall be, and the fame is hereby repealed, annulled and made void, to all Intents and Pur- Boards, &c. pofes whatfoever. from Germany repealed. 13 & 14 Car. 2. only, fhall he II.
