' contained in the faid Charters for AfTurance of Houfes and Goods from Fire : And whereas his Majefty, ' in tender Confideration of the great Difficulties which the faid Corporations do feverally labour under, ' is giacioufly pleafed that the feveral Sums remaining unpaid by them, as aforefaid, (except the faid fe- ' veral Sums of thirty-eight thoufand feven hundred and fifty Pounds, which were made payable within ' three Calendary Months after the Dates of the faid refpective Charters for Affurances relating to Ploufes

  • and Goods from Fire) (hall be abfolutely remitted and difcharged ;' Be it therefore further enacted by

the Authority aforefaid, That the faid feveral Sums of fifty thoufand Pounds, which by the Tenors of the faid Charters relating to the Aflurances of Houfes and Goods from Fire, was intended to be paid by the faid refpeftive Corporations within nine Months after the Dates of the fame Charters ; and the faid fe- veral Sums of fifty thoufand Pounds, which by the Tenors of the fame Charters were intended to be paid by the faid refpeftive Corporations within fifteen Months after the Dates thereof; and the faid feveral Sums of fifty thoufand Pounds, which by the Tenors of the fame Charters were intended to be paid by the faid refpeftive Corporations within one and twenty Months after the Dates thereof (all which Sums do amount in the Whole to three hundred thoufand Pounds) and all Actions, Suits, Executions and Demands what - See farther ™. foever, for, touching or concerning the fame, are and fhall, by Force and Virtue of this Act upon and u ™ngAjjurancn after Payment of the faid feveral Sums of thirty-eight thoufand feven hundred and fifty Pounds, and re- * G "' I- "' 1 S- deeming the laid Securities for the fame) be remifed, releafed and for ever difcharged; any Thing in the faid xgGeo'.i. c'.vr' former Act of Parliament for erecting the faid Corporations, or in any Charters or Letters Patents relating 21 Geo, 2. c.4.' thereunto, to the contrary notwithftanding. 25 Geo. 2. e. 26. ' unfatisfied : And whereas the particular Duties on Salt, charged towards making good the faid yearly "j^ /. !"? ' an Overplus, amounting to two thoufand nine hundred and fixteen Pounds three Shillings and a Penny; ' which Sum laft mentioned doth now remain in the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer : Now to the End ' all the deficient Sums, amounting to one hundred ninety-one thoufand twenty-eight Pounds fixteen Shi]— ' lings and fix Pence Half-penny, may be juftly fatisfied,' Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Sum of two thoufand nine hundred and fixteen Pounds three Shillings and a Penny, now re- maining in the Exchequer for Overplus Monies of the aforefaid particular Duties upon Salt, and fo much of the Monies now remaining in the Exchequer of the SurplufTes, ExcelTes, and Overplus-Monies, commonly called the Sinking Fund, as (together with the faid Sum of two thoufand nine hundred and fixteen Pounds three Shillings and a Penny) fhall completely make up the faid Sum of one hundred ninety-one thoufand twenty-eight Pounds fixteen Shillings and fix Pence Half-penny, fhall be ifiued and paid to the faid Eajl India Company, or their Treafurer or Cafhier, for their Ufe, in full Satisfaction of the Deficiencies be- fore-mentioned ; and that the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury now being, or any three or more of them, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the Time being, fhall and may caufe the fame to be iffued and paid accordingly, without any other or fur- ther Warrant to be fued for, had or obtained in that Behalf; any former Law or Statute whatsoever to the contrary notwithftanding.
