C. 9. 521 before the twenty-fifth Day of December one thonfand feven hundred and feventeen, deliver up as many of the faid Exchequer-Bills as amounted to the faid Sum of two millions in Principal Money, and the fame were difcharged, cancelled and made void ; and they the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England have, ever ftnee the faid Feaft of the Birth of our Lord Chrift one thonfand (even hundred and feventcen, received and enjoyed the faid Annuity or yearly Sum of one hundred thoufand Pound*, and are flill entitled unto the fame : And whereas in and by one other Ait of Parliament, made in the fifth Year of your Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail for applying certain Overplus Monies, and further 5 Cc0 ' '• c - 3- Sums to be rayed, as well by way of a Lottery as by Loans, towards paying off and cancelling Exchequer -Bills, and for leffening the prejent great Charge in Relation to thofe Bills, and jor circulating and exchanging for ready Money the Refidue of th^ fame Bills for the Future, It is amongft divers other Matters and Tilings enacted and declared, That all the faid particular Duties on Houfcs, and all th: faid other Rates, Du- ties, Revenues and Incomes, which by the faid Act of the third Year of your Majcfty's Reign were fet- 3 Ge0 - '■ c - *■• tied for anfwering the refpective Payments theiein mentioned (and which are denominated to be the Ag- gregate Fund) and every of them fhould be continued, and be paid and payable to your Majcfty, your Heirs and Succeflbrs for ever, and that all the Monies of the faid Duties, Revenues and Incomes, which fhould or ought to be brought into the Receipt of the Exchequer, (except the neceflary Charges of raifing, collecting, levying, iftuing, paying and accounting for the fame) fhould be and arc hereby ap- propriated, and fhould be iiTiied and applied to and for the Repayment and Satisfaction of fcveral yearly and other Sums in the faid Act particularly exprefled, in the due Courfe, and with (uch Preferences as are thereby appointed, amongft which Payments an exprefs Provifion is made for Payment of the faid fevcral and refpective Annuities of eighty-eight thoufand feven hundred fifty-one Pounds feven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and one hundred thoufand Pounds per Annum ; and it was thereby enacted, That the faid feveral Annuities, and either of them, fhould feverally and refpectively be redeemable upon fuch Payments, and in fuch Manner and Form as in and the refpective Provisions contained in the recited Act of the third Year of your Majefty's Reign, are prefcribed for the Redemption thereof: And whereas due Notice was given by the Right Honourable Spencer Compton, Efquire, Speaker of the Houfe of Commons, to the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, for paying of the faid Principal Sum of one million feven hundred feventy-five thoufand twenty-feven Pounds feven teen Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and for redeeming the faid Annuity of eighty-eight thoufand feven hundred fifty-one Pounds feven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, attending thereon, at the Feaft of the Nativity of Saint John Baptifl which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-five, and purfuant to the faid Notice, the fame is redeemable accordingly : And whereas the Governor and Company of the Bank of England have agreed and confented, That in cafe they may be permitted to enjoy the faid Annuities of eighty-eight thoufand feven hundred fifty-one Pounds kven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and one hundred thoufand Pounds, until the Feaft of the Nativity of Saint John Baptifl which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and twenty- feven ; That from and after the faid Feaft-day not only their faid Annuity of eighty-eight thoufand feven Further Provi- hundred fifty-one Pounds feven Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, but alfo their Annuity of one hun- rions relating dred thoufand Pounds per Annum, upon the refpective Sums of one million feven hundred feventy-five £ eret0 > iGeo.s, thoufand twenty-feven Pounds feventeen Shillings and ten Pence Half-penny, and two millions fhall j-"' 2, be actually reduced to four Pounds per Centum per Annum, and be likewife from thenceforth redeemable 2 Glo. a. c, 3. by Parliament :' Now we your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain n Parliament aflembled, being defirous to have the publick Debts and Incumbrances letTened and dif- charged as-faft as conveniently may be, with Regard to Juftice and the publick Faith, do humbly befeech your Majefty, that it may be enacted ; And be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and After 24 June with the Advice and Content of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this preient Par- *7 a 7> ^ n: ?
