' thoufand feven hundred and eight, no travelling Waggon, Wain, Cart or Carriage, wherein any Bur- ' thcns, Goods or Wares fhould be carried or drawn, other than fuch Carts and Carriages as were or ' fhould be imployed in or about Hufbandry or Manuring of Land, and in carrying of Hay, Straw, Corn, ' Coal, Chalk, Timber for Shipping, Materials for Building, Stones of all Sorts, or fuch Ammunition or ' Artillery as fhould be for the Service of her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeflbrs, lbiould at any one Time

An Act for enlarging the Fund of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, relating to Exchequer-Bills •, and for fettling an additional Revenue of one hundred and twenty thoufand Pounds per Annum upon his Majefty during his Life, for the Service of the Civil Government; and for eftablifhing a certain Fund of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds per Annum, in order to raife a Sum not exceeding nine hundred and ten thoufand Pounds for the Service of the Publick, by Sale of Annuities, after the Rate of fix Pounds per Centum per Annum, redeemable by Parliament ; and for Satisfying an Arrear for Work and Materials at Blenheim, incurred whilft that Building was carried on at the Expence of her late Majefty Queen Anne, of bleffed Memory; and for other Purpofes therein mentioned. I. ~]/I"OST Gracious Sovereign ; Whereas in Purfuance of an Aft of Parliament made in the feventh J.VA Year of the Reign of her late Majefty Queen Anne (of bleffed Memory) for enlarging the Ca-^ '^ nn ' c - "• pital Stock of the Bank of England, feveral Bills, commonly called Exchequer-Bills^ were made forth, amounting in principal Money, to two Millions and five hundred thoufand Pounds, for her Majefty's Supply ; and in purfuance of another Act made in the faid feventh Year of her faid late Majefty's Reign 7 Ann ' c - s< ,, (amongft other Things) for circulating a further Sum in Exchequer-Bills ; and of certain Claufes con- tained in an Act of the eighth Year of her Reign in that Behalf, there were iffued for her Majefty's Supply 8 Ann. c. 13. more fuch Bills, amounting to the further Sum of four hundred thoufand Pounds in principal Money ; and purfuant to another Act made in the twelfth Year of her faid late Majefty's Reign (amongft 12 Ann. Stat. 1. other Things) for circulating a further Sum in Exchequer-Bills, there were iffued for her Majefty's c ' I - i * Supply more fuch Bills, amounting, in principal Money, to twelve hundred thoufand Pounds ; and it was provided by the faid A£ts refpectively, That all the faid Bills fhould bear an Intereft after the Ra:a of two Pence per Centum per Diem .(laving the faid Intereft upon fuch of the faid Bills as fhoukl at any Time or Times be in the Exchequer, or in the Hands cr rower of any Receiver or Collector of any Taxes, Aids, or Revenues payable to her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeffors, during fuch Time ana Times refpectively as fuch Bills fhould be or remain in the Exchequer, or in fuch Hands or Power, as Vol. V.
