4 men of fuch Houfes fo irregularly built are willing and defirous to make good the faid Defects, whereby
- the Intent of the faid Acts would be fully anfwered, provided they may be exempted from the Penalties
' already incurred by the faid former Acts ;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all Build "» making fuch firft Owners, Head Builders or Workmen, who fhall on or before the twenty-ninth Day of &/»-,„? a i^'itfe timber one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-feven, make good fuch Defects purfuant to the Directions informer" ihe.r of the faid Acts, and fhall pay or caufe to be paid to every Informer or Informers (if by them demanded) charge*, not fuch their reafonable Colts and Charges of Profecution or Suit, which fhall have been fo commenced liable to Ptnil- (upon which no Conviction fhall be obtained before the tenth Day of May one thoufand (even hundred l '"' &c ' EXP< and twenty-five) to be fettled and fixed by three or more of fuch Juftices of the Peace of the City or County where the Offence hath been committed, fhall not be liable to the Penalties of the faid Acts, but fhall and are hereby acquitted and difcharged of and from the fame ; but in cafe fuch firft Owner, Head Builder or Workmen fhall not make good fuch Defects, and pay fuch reafonable Cofts and Charges of Profecution fo fixed and fettled as aforefaid, within the Time herein before limited, that then for fuch Neglect, he, fhe or they fhall forfeit double the Penalty in the faid Act mentioned ; and all fuch firft Owners, Head Builders and Workmen, who fhall have been convicted by Virtue of the faid recited Acts, or either of them, before the faid tenth Day of May, and who fhall not make good fuch Defects (for which they or either of them were fo convicted) before the Time herein before limited for making good the fame, fhall notwithftanding fuch Conviction, be further liable to the Penalties of the faid Acts, all which Penalties are to be recovered and paid in fuch Manner as by the faid Acts are directed : Provided neverthelefs, That in cafe the prefent Owners or Occupiers of fuch Houfe or Houfes as are fo defective, and built contrary to the Directions of either of the faid recited Acts, fhall refufc and deny fuch firft Owner, Head Builder or Workmen, within the Time above limited, on giving him, her or them thirty Days Notice at leaft, in Writing, to be left at their Dwelling-houfe or Houfes, to enter into and upon the Premiffes, and to bring Materials for making good the faid Defects, that then upon Proof made on Oath before two or more Juftices of the Peace of fuch Denial or Refufal, fuch firft Owner, Head Builder or Workmen fhall, and are hereby difcharged of and from the Penalties of the faid recited Acts and of this prefent Act, and fuch prefent Owner or Occupier fo denying and refufing, fhall be, and is and are hereby declared fubject and liable to pay the fame Penalties as the faid firft Owners, Head Builders or Workmen fhould have paid ; any Thing herein or in the above recited Acts contained to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding. IX. - I. "ITT HERE AS the Laws herein after mentioned (which have by Experience been found ufeful
' W anQl beneficial) are near expiring,' May it therefore pleafe your Majefty that it may be enacted, And be it enacted by the King's mod Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Autho- rity of the fame, That an Act made in the fifth Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail to prevent Bankrupts Aft Frauds committed by Bankrupts, which Act was to continue in Force for feven Years from the twenty-fixth 5 Geo. 1. c. 24. Day of May one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion continued for of Parliament, fhall be and is hereby continued from the Expiration thereof, for and during the Space of Qne ear ' c " one Year, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament.
