A. D. 1714. Anno primo Georgii Regis. Stat. 2. C. 19. 49 of any three or more of the Commiluoners of Ms Majefty's Treafury now being, or of the High Treafurcr or Commiflioners of the Treafury, for the Time being, for duly anfwering and paying into the Receipt of the Exchequer, forthc publick Ufe, the Monies fo to be advanced or Contributed, and to account duly for the fame ; which Annuities before mentioned fhall be computed at the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, for every one hundred Pounds, and proportionality for any greater Sum fo to be advanced or paid ; and the Purchafe-moncy for every fuch Annuity at the Rate aforefaid, is hereby appointed to be paid to the (aid Cafhier, as aforefaid, at or before the refpective Days and Times herein after Jimiccd, that Times of pay. is to fay, one Fifth Part thereof on or before the twenty-ninth Day of September in the Year, of our Lord mcl,t - one thoufand feven hundred and fifteen ; one other Fifth Part thereof on or before the twenty-ninth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fifteen ; one other Fifth Part thereof on on or before the twenty-eighth Day of January then next enfuing ; one other Fifth Part thereof on or be- fore the twenty-ninth Day of March then next following ; and the remaining Fifth Part thereof on or be- fore the twenty-ninth Day of May which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen ; all which Annuities fo to be purchafed, fhall not exceed in the whole the faid Sum or forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds per Annum, and fhall be paid and payable at the four moft ufual Feafts or Days of Payment in the Year, that is to fay, the Feafts of the Birth of our Lord Chrift, the Annunci- ation of theBlefied Virgin Mary, the Nativity of St. John Baptift, and St. Michael the Archangel, by even and equal Portions, or within iix Days after every of the faid Feaft Days ; the firft Payment thereof to be due at the Feaft of the Birth of our Lord Chrift, which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one tnoufand fe- ven hundred and fifteen, or within fix Days after the fame Feaft-day ; nevertheless the faid Annuities lhall be redeemable according to the Purport and true Meaning of a Provifo or Condition herein after contained in that Behalf, and not otherwife ; and the faid Cafhier of the faid Governor and Company, for the Time Cafhier to g've being is hereby authorized and required, upon the advancing and paying to him any fuch Sum and Sun»s > R " r ,'" t to of Money, as aforefaid, forthwith to give a Receipt in Writing, iigned by himfelf, for each Payment, to Contnbl »w«% the Contributor or Payer thereof ; and from Time to Time to pay into the Receipt of his M^jefty's ex- chequer all the Monies which he fhall receive, of or for the faid Sum not exceeding nine hundred and and t0 P a x int0 ten thoufand Pounds, as faft as he fhall receive the fame, or any Part thereof, or within five Days at £ e E * ctie< l uer > the fartheft ; and to account for all the Monies fo to be advanced to him, in his Majefty's Court of Ex- ' chequer, according to the due Courfe thereof; in which Account the faid Cafhier fhall have juft Allow- ance of all Monies which he fhall have paid for prompt Payments purfuant to this Act. VI. And it is hereby enacted, That in the Office of the Accountant General of the Governor and Accountant Ce- Company of the Bank of England, for the Time being, there fhall be provided and kept a Book or Books, neraJoftheBan!* in which there fhall be fairly entred the Names of all who fhall be Contributors for fuch Annuities after '° f j^" p c ^°°^ the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, as aforefaid, and of all Perfons by whofe Hands the faid butors, &c. Contributors fhall pay in any of the faid Sums upon this Act, and alfo the Sums fo paid ; to which Book it •lhall be lawful for the faid refpective Contributors, their Executors, Administrators, Succeffors and Afligns, from Time to Time, at all feafonable Times, to have Refort, and to infpect the fame without Fee or Charge; and the faid Accountant General, for the Time being, fhall on or before the twenty-fourth Day of June. one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen tranfmit an attefted Duplicate, fairly written in Paper, of the faid Book or Books into the Office of the Auditor of the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, there to re- main for ever. VII. And it is hereby enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every the Annuities fo to be pur- Annuities char- chafed at the Rate aforefaid, fhall be and are hereby charged upon, and fhall be paid and payable, from s ed on the Fun< > Time to Time, out of the Monies arifing and to arife, of or for the faid yearly Fund of forty-five thoufand of 45'5 0ol - &c » five hundred Pounds, or by other the Provifions or Supplies made or to be made by or in purfuance of this Act, for the Payment thereof, in the Manner and Form by this Act prefcribed in that Behalf; and that all and every Contributor and Contributors upon this Aft, duly paying the Confideration or Pur- chafe-money at the Rate aforefaid, at or before the refpective Days and Times in this Act limited in that Behalf, for fuch Annuity or Annuities, as aforefaid, or fuch as he, fhe, or they fhall appoint, his, her, or their refpective Executors, Adminiftrators, Succeffors, and Affigns, fhall have, receive and enjoy, and be entitled by virtue of this Act to have, receive and enjoy the refpective Annuity and Annuities fo to be purchafed out of the Monies by this Act appropriated or appointed, or to be fupplied for Payment thereof, as aforefaid ; and fhall have good and fure Eftates and Interefts therein for ever, fubject only to the Provi- fo or Condition of Redemption in this Act afterwards contained concerning the fame ; and that all the faid Annuities to be purchafed on this Act, and the principal Monies paid for the fame, and every of them, Tax-free. during the Continuance thereof, fhall be free from all Taxes, Charges and Impofitions whatfoever. ' VIII.
