And be it further enacted, for the better encouraging Perfons to advance the faid Sum of four hun- An Receipts and dred thoufand Pounds in Part of the faid who'e Sum not exceeding one million two hundred thoufand !»""<* tobcwi* Pounds, upon the refpective Terms and Advantages in this Act mentioned, that all Receipts and Iffucs, and all other Things directed by this Act to be performed in the Exchequer, (hall be done and perform- ed by the Officers there, without demanding or receiving directly or indirectly any Fee, Reward or Gra- tuity for the fame ; and in cafe the Officers of the Exchequer lhall take or demand any fuch Fee or Re- ward, or fhall divert or mifapply any of the Monies to be paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer, for making up the aforefaid Fund, or (hall pay or ifliie out of the fame, otherwife than according to the Intent of this Act, or (hall not keep Books or Regifters, and make Entries, and do and perform all other Things which by this Act they are required to perform, every fuch Officer (hall forfeit his Office, and be for the future incapable of any Office or Place of Truft whatfoever, and (hall anfwer and pay treble Damages and Cofts ot Suit to any Contributor or Perfon claiming under him, that will Cue for the fame, to be recovered by Action of Debt, Bill, Plaint or Information, in any of his Majefty's Courts of Re- cord at Wejlmlnjier., wherein no Effoin, Protection, Privilege or Wager of Law, Injunction or Order of Restraint, "or more than one Imparlance (hall be granted or allowed ; and in the faid Act ion the Plaintiff, upon Recovery, (hall have full Cods of Suit ; one third of which Sum fo to be recovered, (hall be paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer, for the Benefit of his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, and the other two Thirds (hall be to and for the Ufe of the Profecutor. XI. Provided always, and it is hereby enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That out of the Monies from Charge of Ma- Time to Time a: King at the faid Receipt of Exchequer, of or for the faid additional Duties on (lamped n3 ^ mt ^J°^ Vellum, Parchment and Paper hereby appropriated as aforefaid, it lhall and may be lawful to and for adHit?ona°Duucs the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the High Treafurer for the on stamps. Time being, to reward the Officers and Clerks in the Exchequer, and others, that lhall and may be any way employed in the Execution of this Act, in Relation to the faid Annuities to be payable thereupon, for their Labours, Pains and Services therein refpectively, and to difcharge and latisfy fuch incident Charges as lhall neceffarily attend the Execution of the fame, in fuch Manner as the Commiilioners of the Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the High Treafurer for the Time being (hall from Time to Time think fit and reafonable in that Behalf; any Thing in this Act contained to the contrary not- withftanding. ' XII. And whereas it is intended that a further Sum, not exceeding eight hundred thoufand Pounds, ' (hall be raifed by way of a Lottery, and be charged on the fame additional Duties upon (tamped Vel-

- fand Pounds, intended by this Act to be raifed upon the faid additional Duties ;' Be it therefore enacted
by the Authority aforefaid, That yearly and every Year, from and after the twenty-fourth Day of June After 14 June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-one, a further certain yearly Sum of twenty-four thoufand Pounds, '73 1 ' g^^f by and out of the Monies which, from and after the faid Feaft-Day, (hall arife and be paid into the 24?o<x>l. U fettied Receipt of the Exchequer, of or for the faid additional Duties on ftamped Vellum, Parchment and Paper, on the faid Ou- mall be, and the fame yearly Sum of twenty-four thoufand Pounds is by this Act declared and enacted ties for the Lot- to be a Fund and Security for anfwering and paying all and every the Annuities or yearly Payments, after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, to the Contributors in the Lottery herein after men- tioned, their Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns, in Manner hereafter in this Act expreiled, until the Redemption thereof by Parliament, according to the Provifo hereafter in this Act contained in that Be- half; and that the faid yearly Sum of twenty-four thoufand Pounds, or fo much thereof as (hall be fuf- ficient to fatisfy and difcharge all the Sums which (hall grow due from Time to Time, for or upon the faid Annuities, after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, lhall, from Time to Time, be paid half yearly at Chriflmas and Midfummer, by even and equal Portions, until Redemption of the faid Annuities, according to the true Meaning of this Act, at the faid Receipt of Exchequer, to the Chief Calhier of the Governor and Company ot the Bank of England for the Time being, by way of Impreit and upon Account, for Payment of the fame Annuities ; the firfl Payment of the faid yearly Sum to the faid Cafhier to be made on the twenty-fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-one; and the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury now being, and the High Treafurer, Under Trea- furer and Commiffioners of the Treafury of his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors for the Time being, are hereby ftrictly enjoined and required to caufe the faid yearly Sum of twenty-four thoufand Pounds, or fo much thereof as (hall be fufficient, to be imprefted and paid, from Time to Time, to the faid Calhier accordingly, without any further or other Authority for the fame ; any former Statute or Law to the contrary notwithstanding. XIII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, Tint for or towards railing the faid Sum Any Perfons of eight hundred thoufand Pounds, it (hall and may be lawful for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Fo- ™?y. Bodies Politick or Corporate to contribute, by paying at or before the refpective Times by this Act limited in that Behalf, to any Receiver or Receivers to be appointed for that Purpofe, as is herein after mentioned, the Sum of ten Pounds, or divers intire Sums often Pounds, upon this Act ; and that every fuch Contributor or Adventurer for every fuch Sum of ten Pounds which he, fire or they (hall fo advance, fhall be interefted in fuch Lot or Share of and in the faid yearly Fund eitablifhed by this Act, as is herein after directed and appointed in that Behalf; and the fame intire Sums of ten Pounds each are hereby appointed to be paid unto fuch Receiver or Receivers, at fuch Time or Times, and in fuch Proportions at a Time on or before the twentieth Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and thirty- one, as (hall be appointed by the Commiffioneis of the Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the Lord High Treafurer for the Time being; and the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, Vot., VI.
