Bills or any fuch Tickets, Certificates, Annuity Orders or other Orders as atorefaid, before the twenty- Oath ,, efor . eighth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-two, have been or are loft, burnt or other- a Baron of the wife deftroyed, or that there be good Reafon to believe the fame have been, burnt, loft or otherwife de- txchequer, llroved it (ball and mav be lawful for the respective Officers and Perfons appointed to iffue or make form fuch Exchequer Bills, Tickets, Certificates, Annuity Orders or other Orders, or to pay or dif- charge the fame, or to iffue any Monies due or payable thereon, upon producing a Certificate from any and Certificate, of the faid Barons of fuch Affidavit made before him (which Affidavit the faid Barons or any of them is and are hereby authorized to take, and which Certificate he or they are hereby required to make and grant without Fee or Reward) and on Security given to the faid refpeitive Officers and Perfons to their "ood Liking, to indemnify them reflectively againft all other Perfons whatfoever, for or concerning the tvlonies fpecified in or due upon fuch respective Bill or Bills, Ticket or Tickets, Certificate or Certifi- cates Order or Orders, they the faid Perfons and Officers reflectively fliall and are hereby required to make' forth Duplicates of the raid Bills, Tickets, Certificates and Orders at the Requeft of the refpeclive Owners, and to pay and difcharge the fame, and all fuch Intereft as is or fliall be due on any of them to be paid as if carrying' Intereft, as he or they ihould have paid or difcharged on the faid original Bills, Tickets, Cer- ^re^oducrf. titkates Annuity Orders or other Orders, if the fame had been produced, and lhall be allowed ail fuch Payments in their respective Accounts. XVII. And in all Cafes where the Signing of the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or the Duplicates to be Lord High Treafurer of Great Britain for the Time being, is neceffary for making the faid Duplicates fis ned - or any of them effectual for the Purpofes aforefaid, It is hereby further enacted, That it fhall and may- be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the Lord High Treafurer for the Time being, to fign fuch Duplicates accordingly. CAP. XVIII. An Act for the further Qualification of Juftices of the Peace. ' TT7HEREAS the constituting Perfons of mean Eftates to be Juftices of the Peace maybe highly < Amended by ' W prejudicial to the publick Welfare,' Be it therefore enacted by the King's moft Excellent Ma- lS Geo..a. jefty, by and with .the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this '" 20 prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the twenty-fifth No Perfons to Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-three no Perfon (hall be capable of being a juftice bejirfKceswha of the Peace, or to act as a Juftice of the Peace for any County within that Part of Great Britain called v^-'dea^of' England, or the Principality of Wales, who (hall not have an Eftate of Freehold or Copyhold to and for incumbrances. his own Ufe and Benefit, in PofiefTion, for Life, or for fome greater Eftate, either in Law or Equity, or an Eftate for Years, determinable upon one or more Life or Lives, or for a certain Term origi- nally created for one and .twenty Years, or more, in Lands, Tenements or Hereditaments lying in that Part of Qpiat Britain called England, or Principality of JVales, of the clear yearly Value of one hundred Pounds, over and above what will fatisfy and difcharge all Incumbrances that may affect the fame. II. And be-if further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That no Attorney, Solicitor or Proctor in Attomies: Soli-- auy Court Whatfoever fhall, from and after the faid twenty-fifth Day or March one thoufand feven hun- ^rsincapaci- dred and thirty-three, be capable to continue or be a Juftice of the Peace within any County for that tated. Part of Great Britain called England, or the Principality of JVales, during fuch Time as he (hail continue in the Bufinefs and Practice of an Attorney, Solicitor or Proctor. III. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon, who fliall not be qua- Perfons afling lified according to the Directions of this Act, fhall after the faid twenty-fifth Day of March one thoufand fo^^uned' 10 ^ feven hundred and thirty-three accept or take upon himlelf the Office of a Juftice of the Peace, or (hall forfeit iool. do any Act as fuch, the Perfon fo offending (ball for every fuch Offence forfeit and pay the Sum of one hundred Pounds ; one Moiety whereof (hall be to the King's Majeity, his Heirs and* SuccesTors, and the other Moiety to fuch Perfon or Perfons as will fue for the fame by Action of Debt, Bill, Plaint or Information in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record at Wejhmnjhr, in which no Effoin, Protection, Wager of Law or more than one Imparlance fhall be allowed. IV.
