XIV. Provided always, and it is hereby farther enacled and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That nothing in this Act contained fhall extead or be conftrued to extend to prejudice or take away any Right, Property or Jurifdiction of the Mayor, or of the Mayor, Commonalty, and Citizens of the City of London, to, in and upon the River of Thames aforefaid. XV. An additional Act for the Encouragement of the Woollen Manufactures of this Kingdom, by the more effedtual preventing the unlawful Exportation of the Woollen Manufactures of the Kingdom of Ireland to foreign Parts. HE RE A S by an Act made in the tenth and eleventh Years cf the Reign of King William' the Third, intituled, An Acl to prevent the Exportation of Wool out of the Kingdoms of Ireland ' and England, and for the Encouragement of the Woollen Manufactures in the Kingdom of England, certain ' Ships and Sloops are directed to cruize on the Coafts of England and Ireland, particularly between ' the North of Ireland and Scotland, with Orders to take and ieize all Ships, Veffels and Boats, which ' fhall export any Wool, with intent to carry it into foreign Parts, but the Commanders of fuch Ships '.and Sloops are not thereby authorized to feize Ships, Veffels and Boats, which thali export any

' hibited by Law, and are difcouraged by other Reftriclions in the faid Act from putting the fame in ' Execution ; ' Therefore, to render the faid Act more effectual, le it enacted by the King's moil Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the Lord High Admiral of Great Britain, or Commiffioners for executing the Office cf Lord High Admiral of Great Britain, for the Time being, fhall from Time to Time direct and appoint three Ships of the fixth Rate, and eight or more armed Sloops, conftantly to cruize on the Coafts of Great Britain and Ireland, in fuch Stations as the faid Lord High Admiral, or Commiffioners for the Time being, fhall aifign to fuch Ships and Sloops reflectively, with Orders for taking and ieizing all Ships, Veffels and Boats, in which any Worfted, Bay, or Woollen Yarn, Clothj Serges, Bays, Kerfeys, Says, Prizes, Druggets, Cloth Serges, Shalloons or sny other Drapery Stuffs or Woollen Manufactures what- foever, made up or mixed with Wool or Wool-flocks, ihall be exported or laden in order to be ex- ported from Inland into foreign Parts ; and that the faid Lord High Admiral, or the faid Commiffioners. for the time being, fhall fend a Lit! of fuch Ships and Sloops, and the Names of the Commanders thereof, together with true Copies of the feveral Inftruclions to them given, within ten Days after tlij Date of the faid Orders, to his Majefty's Commiffioners for the Management of the Cuffoms in Gnat* Britain, and to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Revenue in Ireland. II. And be it enacled by the Authority aforefaid, That it (hall and may be lawful to and for the Commander of every fuch Ship and Sloop in any Port, Creek or Road, or in the open Sea, within the Limits of the Station which ihall be affigned to fuch Ship or Sloop as aforefaid, to enter and fearch or caufe to be entered and fearched, any Ship, Veffcl or Boat ; and if upon fuch Seaich any of the faid prohibited Commodities ihall be found therein, and the Mafter or Commander of fuch Ship, VeiTtrl or Boat, flv-Il not immediately produce to the Commander of fuch Ship or Sloop a lawful Cocket or Warrant, licenfng the Exportation or Tranfportation thereof, to take and feize fuch Ship, Yeffel or Boat, and to carry the fame, together with the Crew and Cargo thereof, into any Port in Great Britain or Ireland. III. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every fuch Ship, Veffel or Boat fo taken and feized, with all her Guns, Tackie, Furniture and Apparel, and all the faid prohibited Com- modities which ihall be found therein, ihall be forfeited, and the faid prohibited Commodities ihall be lodged in the King's Warehoufehoufe in fuch Pert into which fuch Ship, Veffel or Boat Ihall be carried as aforefaid, until it (hall be condemned according to Law, and being fo condemned, Ihall be expofed pubiickly to fale, after one and twenty Days publick Notice thereof in Writing, being affixed upon the Cuftom-houfe of the faid Port, by Inch of Candle, to the laft and heft Bidder ; and that every fuch Ship, Veffel or Boat, and all the Guns, Tackle, Furniture and Apparel thereof, (hall after Condemnation thereof be expofed to fale in like manner; and that one fourth Part ot the Pro* duce of fuch Sale or Sales fhall be to the Commander of the Ship or Sloop, that ihall m ke fuch Sei- zure as aforeiaid, one other fourth Part to the other Officers of fuch Ship or Sloop, -one ot' er fourth Part to the Mariners thereof, to be equally diitributed to the faid Mariners by the chief Officer ot rhe Cuftoms in the faid Port, or by fuch Perfon or Perfons as ihall be authorized to make fuch Sale or Sales as aforefaid, and the other fourth Part thereof to his Majeity, his Heirs and SuceeiTbrs, after r Deduction
