- and before the Regulations intended by this Act to be obferved by the refpedtive Owners and Mafters
- before the Sailing of any Ship or Ships to be imployed in the faid Trade were made, and it will
- therefore be but juft and reafonable, that the Bounties intended to be given on the Return of Ships
4 hereafter to be fitted out on fuch Voyage, fhould be given alfo to the Owners of fuch Ships already ' failed upon fuch Voyage, and not yet returned ; '■ Be it therefore enacted by the Authority afore- faid, That if the Owner or Owners of any Ship or Ships already failed on the faid Voyage and Fifhery Owners of |Wpi refpectively (hall, on or before the thirtieth Day of . June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-three, ^ r a e ^ y q^,,* 1 , make Oath before the Collector and Comptroller from whence fuch Ship departed (who are hereby im- 5 o June 173-?, powered and required to adminifter the fame) that it was the Defign, Refolution and exprefs Direction of cf fucii prf'S* the laid Owner or Owners refpectively to proceed on the faid Voyage for the Purpofes afore mentioned, ^ns^,!. ca " and to import the Whale Fins, Oil and Blubber of the Whales to be caught in the faid Voyage into Great Britain, and that the faid Ships reflectively were fo properly qualified and duly fitted out for the Whale Filhery as aforefaid, and fhall enter into fuch Bonds of fuch Penalty, Tenor, Purport and Condition as aforefaid, and in cafe on the Return of fuch Ships refpectively to Great Britain the Mafter or Mate, or other Chief Officer of ftich Ships refpectively fhall make Oath before the faid Collector and Comptroller, that they did proceed on the faid Voyage for the Purpofes aforefaid, and behaved themfelves therein pur- suant and in conformity to the Directions of this Act, and if the faid Mafter and Mate, or other Chief Officer of fuch Ships, fha.H do and perform on their Parts all Matters and Things required by this Act to be done and performed on the Return of Ships hereafter to be employed in the faid Trade, then the faid Commifiioners fhall, on Demand, caufe Payment to be made to the Mafter or Owners of fuch of the faid Ships reflectively fo qualified and intitled as aforefaid, or to his or their Affigns, by the Receiver whave the fame General of the Cuftoms for that Part of Great Britain whence the Ship departed, the Sum of twenty AUowance Shillings per Tun, according to the Admeafurement of fuch Ship or Ships reflectively ; any Thing in this Act contained to the contrary notwithstanding. An Act for reviving fo much of the Act made in the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, inti- . tuled, An Acl to oblige Ships coming from Places infetled more effectually to perform their Qua- rentine, and for the better preventing the Plague being brought from foreign Parts into Great '■ Britain or Ireland, or the IJles of Guernfey, Jerfey, Alderney, Sark or Man, and to hinder the fpreading of Infetlion, as relates to the performing of Quarantine, and preventing the fpreading of Infection, and to enable his Majefty to prohibit Commerce with any Country . or Place infected with the Plague, for a certain Time therein limited. EXP. HE RE AS in and by an Act of Parliament made in the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, 1 Geo. 2, c. 13. intituled, An Ail to oblige Ships coming from Places infetled more effectually to perform their ^ua- ■ W h , rentine, and for the better preventing the Plague being brought from fereign Pars into Great Britain or 'Ireland, or the Ifles of Guernfey, Jerfey, Alderney, Sark r Man, and to kinder the fpreading of In- ' feclion, it was amongft other Things enacted, That the faid Ait, and the feveral Claufes and Pro- ' vifions- therein contained, mould commence and take Effect, from and after the firft Day of June ' in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-eight, and that the fame, except ' fo much thereof as enabled his Majefty to prohibit or reftrain Commerce between his Majefty's 'Subjects and thofe.-of any other Country or Place infected with the Plague, and the feveral Powers, ' Provifions, Penalties, Matters and Things relating thereto, flio.ild continue in Force for the Space of ' two Years, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament, and no longer: And ' whereas the faid Act was found to be ufeful and beneficial, but is expired, and certain Places in foreign ' Parts being at this Time vifited with the Plague, it is become neceflary that fome Proviiion fhould be ' made by Parliament for obliging Ships and Perfons coming from any Place fo infected more effectually '■ to perform Qusrentine, in fuch Manner as hath been or Yhall be ordered by his Majefty, his Heirs or ' Succeffors, and for punifhing Offenders therein in a more expeditious Manner than can be done ' by the ordinary Methods of Law, and for preventing the bringing in and fpreading of Infection:' Be it enacted, &c.
