An Act for enabling his Majefty to apply the Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, out of the Sinking Fund, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hun- dred and thirty-four, and for appropriating the Supplies granted in this Seffion of Par- liament. the Sinking Fund for the Service of the current Year. Moft Gracious Sovereign, WE your Majefty's mod: dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament afTembled, being defirous to raife the Supply granted to your Majefty in this Seffion of Parliament, by Ways the leaft burthenfome to your Majefty's Subjects, have refolved to enable your Majefty to iffue and apply the Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, out of the Surpluffes, Exceffes, and Overplus Monies commonly called the Sinking Fund, towards the Supply granted to your Ma- jefty for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-four; and to that End and Purpofe do moft humbly befeech your Majefty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tem- poral, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That 1,200,0001. to by or out of fuch Monies as now are, or (hall from time to time quarterly be in the Receipt of his be ifiued out of Majefty's Exchequer, of the faid Surpluffes, Exceffes or Overplus Monies commonly called The Sinking Fund, at any Time before the Feaft of the Annunciation of the Bleffed Virgin Mary, which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-five, after paying, or referving fuffi- cient to pay, all fuch Sum and Sums of Money, as have been directed by any former Act or Acts of Parliament to be paid out of the fame, there mall and may be iffued, paid, and applied, a Sum not exceeding the faid Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, for or towards the Supply granted to his Majefty for the Service of the faid Year one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-four; and the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the time being, are hereby authorized and impowered to iffue and apply the fame accordingly. Surplus Money II. Provided always, That if on the faid Feaft Day of the Aimunciation of the Bleffed Virgin Mary, of the ("aid Fund which (hall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-five, the Monies arifen 1^5, referred 7 ' ^ rom the ^d Surpluffes, Exceffes, or Overplus Monies commonly called the Sinking Fund, fhall be to the Difpofi- more than fufficient to fatisfy and pay the faid Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, fuch Surplus Money (hall be and remain in the faid Receipt of Exchequer for the future Difpofition of Par- liament, and (hall not be iffued but by Authority of Parliament; any thing herein contained to the con- trary notwithftanding. ' III. And whereas it may fo happen that there may be a Want of Money for canying on the cur- ' rent Service of the faid Year one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-four, before Monies fufficient ' may have arifen into the Exchequer from the faid Surpluffes, to fatisfy and pay the faid Sum of one ' million two hundred thoufand Pounds by this Act granted,' in fuch Cafe it (hall and may be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the high Treafurer for the time being, by Warrant under their Hands, to permit and fuffer any Perfon or Per- fons, Body or Bodies Politick or Corporate, to advance and lend to his Majefty at the P„eceipt of his Exchequer, fo much Money as, together with the Monies then remaining in the faid Exchequer, of the faid Surpluffes, Exceffes, or Overplus Monies, commonly called the Sinking Fund, (hall be wanting to compleat the laid Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, upon Credit of the growing Produce of the faid Surpluffes, Exceffes, or Overplus Monies, and to be repaid out of the fame, as they fhall quarterly afterwards arife, together with an Intereft for the Forbearance thereof in the mean time, after a Rate not exceeding four Pounds per Centum per Annum; any thing herein before contained to the contrary notwithftanding. IV.
