- together therein, ufing unlawful Sports and Games, and drawing in and enticing young Perfons into
' Gaming, Idlenefs, and other vicious Courfes ; and Vagabonds, common Beggars, and other diforder-

' continually are committed, notwithltanding the Watch or Guard allowed by the feveral Parifhes,
- wherein the faid Fields are fituate, for preventing the fame : And whereas the South, Weft and North
' Parts of the faid Fields are incompaffed with Houfes, many of which are inhabited by the Owners and ' Proprietors thereof, who with the other Inhabitants cannot go to and from their refpeetive Habitations ' in the Night Seafon without Danger, and therefore are defirous to prevent any Mifchiefs for the future, « and to inclofe, clean, repair and beautify the faid Fields in a graceful Manner, and are willing and de
- firous that an adequate Contribution may for that Purpofe be raifed by and amongft themfelves :'
Wherefore and to the End the faid Fields may be inclofed, cleanled and and adorned, and kept in Re- pair for the future, the faid Proprietors and Inhabitants do moft humbly befeech your moft Excellent Ma- jefty, that it may be enacted, &c. " The Inhabitants to meet z June 1735, and choofe 21 Truftees. 20 s. Penalty on any Perfon annoying " the faid Fields or Houfes after 2 June 1735. To be levied by Diftrefs. Tenants to pay the " Rates, and deduct their Landlords Proportion out of the Rent. Truftees to choofe a Collector and " Receiver. Imprifonment on not accounting. " venger and Watch, and the refpeetive Parifhes exonerated. The Truftees may grant Annuities for " 32 Years. Money paid for Annuities to be regiftred, and proper Inftruments figned by the Truftees " to be granted thereon, and the yearly Rates chargeable with the Repayment. Truftees may incumber " the faid Rates with Mortgages as well as Annuities, if they think convenient ; but not to ex- " ceed 6000 /." CAP. XXVII. An Act for rebuilding the Parifh Church of Saint Leonard Sborditch in the County of Middle/ex. " Nine " or more of the Truftees may caufe the old Church to be pulled down, and a new one to be built. " The Expences to be borne out of the Funeral Rates, as fettled by Indenture 8 April 1735. The " full Rates to be paid for Burials of Perfons dying in the faid Parifh, but buried elfewhere, during " this Act. Rep. 1 1 Geo. 2. c. 23. The Veftry within two Months to nominate 12 Inhabitants, out of " which the Truftees are to choofe 4 Perfons to collect the Rates, and fo on every Tuefday in Eafter «« Week yearly. Perfons ferving as Collectors difcharged from the Office of Scavenger. Collectors " refufing to account, to be imprifoned. Truftees may borrow Money and grant Annuities on the " Rates, not exceeding 8000/. at 8/. 10 s. per Cent. Deficiency in Annuities to be fupplied by an Af- " feffment on Lands, &c. but not to exceed 1 s. in the Pound of the yearly Rent ; Two Thirds to be " paid by the Landlord, and the other Third by the Tenants. The Payment of thefe Affeffments " lhall not intitle to a Settlement. The Rates to commence from 1 June 1735, and be continued no " longer than neceffary ; and then the ancient Rates for Funerals to be paid.
