An Act to indemnify Perfons who have omitted to read the Prayers, and make and fub- fcribe the Declarations directed to be read, made and fubferibed by the Act of Unifor- mity of the thirteenth and fourteenth Years of the Reign of King Charles the Second, within the Time limited by Law, and for allowing further Time for doing thereof. EXP. Perfon who fhould thereafter be prefented or collated, or put into any Ecclefiaftical Benefice or Promotion, within the Realm of England, Dominion of Wales, and Town of Berzvick upon Tweed, fhould, in the Church, Chapel or Place of publick Worfhip, belonging to the faid Benefice or Promotion, within two Months next after that he fhould be in the actual PofTef- fion of the faid Ecclefiaftical Benefice or Promotion, upon fome Lord's Day, openly, publickly and folemnly, read the Morning and Evening Prayer appointed to be read by and according to the Book of Common Prayer therein before mentioned, at the Times thereby appointed or to be appointed ; and after fuch Reading thereof, fhould openly and publickly, before the Congregation there affembled, declare his unfeigned Affent and Confent to the Ufe of all Things therein contained and prefcribed, according to the Form therein before appointed ; and that all and every fuch Perfons who fhould (with- out fome lawful Impediment to be allowed and approved of by the Ordinary of the Place) neglect or refufe to do the fame within the Time aforefaid, or in cafe of fuch Impediment, within one Month after fuch Impediment removed, mould ipfo faclo be deprived of all his faid Ecclefiaftical Benefices and Promo- tions ; and that from thenceforth it fhould be lawful for all Patrons of all and fmgular the faid Ecclefi- aftical Benefices and Promotions, or any of them, according to their refpective Rights and Titles, to prefent or collate to the fame, as though the Perfon or Perfons fo offending or neglecting were dead ; and alfo that every Dean, Canon and Prebendary of every Cathedra] or Collegiate Church, and all Mafters or other Heads, Fellows, Chaplains and Tutors, of or in any College, Hall, Houfe of Learn- * ing or Hofpital, and every publick Profeffor and Reader in either of the Univerfities, and in every Col- lege elfewhere; and every Parfon, Vicar, Curate, Lecturer, and every other Perfon in holy Orders, and every Schoolmafter keeping any publick or private School, and every Perfon inftructing or teaching any Youth in any Houfe or private Family as a Tutor or Schoolmafter, who upon the firft Day of May which fhould be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred and fixty-two, or at any Time thereafter, fhould be Incumbent or have Poffeffion of any Deanery, Canonry, Prebend, Mafterfhip, Headfhip, Fellowfhip, Profeffor's Place or Reader's Place, Parfonage, Vicarage or any other Ecclefiafti- cal Dignity or Promotion, or of any Curate's Place, Lecture or School, or fhould inftruct or teach any Youth as Tutor or Schoolmafter, fhould, before the Feaft Day of Saint Bartholomew which fhould be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred fixty-two, or at or before his or their refpective Admif- fion to be Incumbent or have Poffeffion, fubferibe a Declaration or Acknowledgment, wherein, ' among
