And whereas Conftables or other minifterial Officers of the Peace have refufed or neglected to ' be aiding or affifting in the Execution of the before mentioned Acts made in the ninth and tenth ' Years of his prefent Majefty's Reign, although thereunto required ;' Be it further enacted by the Penaltytw Authority aforefaid, That from and after the laid twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hun- Jj™! 1 ^ 1 " dred and thirty-eight, if any Conftable, or other minifterial Officer of the Peace whatfoever, fhall refufe ege o uty. or ne gj e ^ upon due Notice or Requcft, or on their own View, to be aiding and affifting in the Ex- ecution of this Act, or of the before mentioned Acts made in the ninth and tenth Years of his Ma- jefty's Reign, or any or either of them ; fuch Conftable or other minifterial Officer of the Peace, being thereof convicted by the Oath of one or more credible Witnefs or Witneffes, before any Juftice of the Peace for the County or PJace where fuch Offence fhall be committed, fliall forfeit for every fuch Of- fence the Sum of twenty Pounds, to be levied by Diftrefs and Sale of the Offender's Goods, by War- rant under the Hand and Seal of fuch Juftice of the Peace ; the one Moiety to go to the Poor of tire Parifh where fuch Offence fhall be committed, and the other Moiety to the Informer, who fhall pro- itcdte for the fame, rendring the Overplus thereof to the Owner if any there be. ' Company of the Bank of England, purfuant to former Provifoes of Redemption ; and for ftcuring to them ' feveral new Funds and Allowances redeemable by Parliament ; and for obliging them to advance further '•'Sums, not . exceeding two millions five hundred thoufand Pounds, at five Pounds per Centum, as Jhall be ' found necejfary to be employed in leffening the national Debts and Incumbrances ; and for continuing certain 1 Proviftons made for the Expence of his Majefty's civil Government ; and for Payment of Annuities formerly ' pur chafed at the Rate of five Pounds per Centum ; and for other Purpofes in this Acl mentioned ; the faid ' Governor and Company of the Bank of England became intitled to one Annuity or yearly Sum of

' certain Exchequer Bills, which according to the Directions of the fame Act were delivered up by the ' faid Governor and Company to be cancelled ; and the faid Annuity was thereby charged on the Ag- ' gregate Fund, and made redeemable by Parliament on Repayment to the faid Governor and Com- ' pany of the Bank of England of the faid Sum of two-millions : And whereas by an Act of Parliament 11 Ceo. 1. c. 9.
