Jr Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called England ; and for granting to his Majefty certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty. 2. An Act for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a Land Tax to be. raifed in Great Britain, for the Ser- vice of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty. 3. An Aft for the better Supply of Mariners and Seamen to ferve in his Majefty's Ships of War, and on Board Merchant Ships, and other trading Ships and Pri- vateers. 4. An A£l for the more effectual fecuring and encoura- ging the Trade of his Majefty's Britifi Subjects to Ame- rica, and for the Encouragement of Seamen to enter into his Majefty's Service. 5. An Act for making more effectual three feveral Acts of Parliament, one of the fixth Year of the Reign of her late Majefty Queen Anne, and another of the ele- venth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George, For repairing the Highways from Old Stratford in the County of Northampton, to Dunchurch in the County of Warwick ; and the Third made in the tenth Year of his prefent Majefty's Reign, for making more effectual the faid two former Acts. 6. An Act to indemnify Perfons who have omitted to qualify themfelves for Offices and Employments, with- in the Time limited by Law, and for allowing further Time for that Purpofe. 7. An Act for naturalizing fuch foreign Proteftants, and others therein mentioned, as are fettled, or mail fettle, in any of his Majefty's Colonies in America. 8. An Act to explain and amend an Act made in the firft Year of the Reign of her late Majefty Queen Anne, in- tituled, An Act for the more effectual preventing the Abufes and Frauds of Perfons employed in the working up the Woollen, Linnen, Fuflian, Cotton, and Iron Manufactures of this Kingdom ; and for extending the faid Act to the Manufactures of Leather. Q. An Act for repairing the Road between Hockclijfe in the County of Bedford, and Stony Stratford in the County of Bucki?igham. 10. An A,ct for punifhing Mutiny and Defertion ; and for the better Payment of the Army and their Quarters. 11. An Act for the more effectual improving the Naviga- tion of the River Dun, from a Place called Wiljick- houfe, in the Parifh of Bramby-dun in the County of York, to Fiflilack-ferry in the fame County. 12. An Act for making a Chapel lately built by Robert ■ Dowries Goldfmith, and others, in the Town' of Sheffield in the County of York, a perpetual Cure and Benefice ; and for making a Provifion for the Maintenance of the Curate or Minifter of the faid Chapel, purfuant to an Agreement for that Purpofe. 13. An Act for providing a Marriage Portion for the Prin cefs Mary. 14. An Act for making more effectual two Acts of Par- liament parTed in the feventh and tenth Years of her late Majefty Queen Anne, For preferving and enlarging the Harbour of VVhitehaven. in the County of Cumber- land ; and for repairing and amending the High Roads leading to the faid Harbour and Town of Whitehaven, 15. An Act for continuing and making more effectual an Act palled in the fifth Year of the Reign 'of his late Majefty King George the Firft, For repairing the Roads from the Top of Stoken-church Hill to Enflow-bridge, and the Road from Wheatley-bridge through the City of Oxon, by Begbrook, to New-Woodftock in the County of Oxon (except the Mile-way on each Side of the faid City) and for repairing the Road from the Crown Ale- houfe to the Turnpike on Stoken-church Hill afore- faid. 16. An Act to give further Powers to the Commiffioners for building a Bridge crofs the River Thames, from the City of We/lminjler to the oppofite Shore in the County of Surrey; and to enable them to raife a further Sum of Money towards finifhing the faid Bridge, and to per- form the other Trufts repofed in them. r 7> An Act for the Increafe of Mariners and Seamen to navigate Merchant Ships, and other trading Ships or Veflels. 1 8. An Act to continue feveral Laws therein mentioned % for punifhing fuch Perfons as fhall wilfully and mali- cioufly pull down or deftroy Turnpikes for repairing Highways, or Locks or other Works erected by Au- thority of Parliament for making Rivers navigable"; for preventing Exactions of the Occupiers of Locks and Wears upon the River of Thames Weftward, and for afcertaining the Rates of Water Carriage upon the faid River ; and for preventing frivolous and vexatious Arrefts ; and for better fecuring the lawful Trade of his Majefty's Subjects to and from the Eaft Indies, and for the more effectual preventing all his Majefty's Sub- jects trading thither under foreign Commiffions ; and for limiting the Time for fuing forth Writs of Certiorari upon Proceedings before Juftices of the Peace, and for regulating the Time and Manner of applying for the fame ; for the better and more fpeedy Execution of Procefs within particular Franchifes or Liberties ; and for extending the Powers and Authorities of Juftices of the Peace of Counties, touching County Rates, to the Juftices of the Peace of fuch Liberties and Franchifes as have Commiffions of the Peace within themfelves. 19. An Act to reftrain and prevent the exceffive Increafe of Horfe Races; and for amending an Act made in the laft Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Ail for the more effectual preventing of exceffive and deceitful Gaming.. zo. An Act for more effectually preventing fraudulent Qualifications of Perfons to vote as Freeholders in the Election of Members to ferve in Parliament, for fuch Cities and Towns as are Counties of themfelves, in that Part of Great Britain called England, 21. An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers granted and given by an Act paffed in the tenth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George the Firft, inti- tuled, An A£i for repairing the Road leading from Dun- church in the County of Warwick, to the Bottom of Me- riden Hill in the fame County ; and for making the faid Act more effectual. 23. An Act for granting to his Majefty the Sum of one million out of the Sinking Fund, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty ; and for enabling his Majefty to raife the further Sum of two hundred thoufand Pounds out of the growing Produce of the faid Fund ; and for granting to his Majefty the Sum of twenty-one thoufand Pounds one Shilling and eight
