make two Copies of fuch Licence, Endorse- ments or Certificates ; for all which Entries, Cocquets, Endorsements and Certificates, or Copies, no jKore (hall be taken by the laid Officers than the legal and accuftomed Fees ; and the Mailer or other Perfon having or taking Charge of fuch Ship, (hall, before he receives the faid Licence, atteft the faid Copies under his Hand, which are to be left with the Codector and Comptroller and Naval Offi- cer; and the faid Collector and Comptroller are hereby required, as foon as conveniently they can, to tranfmit one of the faid Copies of the Endorfements or Certificates to the Coinmiffioners of the Cuftoms in Great Britain reflectively, by whom the Licence was granted when the faid Ship or Ve(T;l fet fail from Great Britain; and the faid Mafter, or other Perfon, having or taking Charge of fuch Ship, (hall proceed from the faid Sugar Colonies directly to Great Britain, without putting into any other Port or Placo, unlefs forced by Strefs of Weather, Proof whereof (hall in fuch Cafe be made on Oath to the Satisfaction of the Cornmiffioners of the Cuftoms in Great Britain refpectively ; and on the Return to be delivered of fuch Ship or Veflel to Great Britain, the faid Mafter or other Perfon (hall produce and deliver the on tier Return faid Licence to the faid Cornmiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms refpectively, or to the Collector and f° in to' the " Compti oiler of the Port at which (he (hall arrive, immediately on fuch her Arrival, with the Indorfe- Commiiiioners ment made thereon, or Certificate annexed thereto, by the Collector and Comptroller, of the Marks, or Colteflor oC Numbers, Contents, Sorts or Denomination of fuch Sugars Ioaden on Board in the faid Colonies, or tlc or: " any of them, as herein before directed ; and (hall alfo deliver a true and exact Manifeft, expreffing the Marks and Numbers, with the Tale and Sorts of Cafks of all his Lading, attefted upon Oath, or, ifoathtobe a Quaker, by Affirmation, before the Collector and Comptroller of fuch Port where he lhall arrive, taken > who are hereby impowered to adminifter the fame; and (hall alfo make an Entry or Entries of the and Entry to Quantities and Sorts of all the Sugars which were laden on Board the faid Ship at any of the faid Colo- be made - nies as aforefaid, and then remaining on Board and bound to foreign Parts ; which Entry or Entries the Cuftomer or Collector and Comptroller of fuch Port are to pafs without demanding or receiving any Cuftom or Duties for fuch Sugar; mentioning in their Accounts, that fuch Entries were paffed by- virtue of this Act ; and (hall alfo declare on Oath, or if a .'Quaker on his Affirmation, to what foreign Port or Ports he is bound with fuch Lading ; then fuch Mailer, or other Perfon, hiving Charge of fuch Ship or Veflel, (hall be at Liberty to proceed with all the Goods on Board mentioned in fuch Manifeft, being none of the Goods before enumerated, to any foreign Port or Place whatfoever, without being obliged to land or pay Duty for the fame as aforefaid, taking with him the faid Licence, and a Certifi- cate thereon or annexed thereto, under the Seals of Office from the faid Cuftomer or Collector and Comptrol er, teftifying that the faid Ship or Veflel, and the Mafter or other Perfon having Charge thereof, had touched at fuch Port, and had in all refpects complied with the Directions of this Act : .But in cafe any fuch Veflel (hall proceed to any foreign Part without having firft touched at fome Port Penalty on go- in Great Britain, and having complied with the feveral Directions of this Act, and haying the lame {"S** foreign certified as aforefaid ; or in cafe any Goods of the Growth, Produce or Manufacture of any of the tbucningfat"' American Colonies or Plantations, enumerated as aforefaid, befides Sugars, (hall be found on Board, fome Port in or carred by any fuch Ship or Veflel to any foreign Parts ; then the Liberty granted by fuch Licence (hall Gleat Britain ceafe, and become void and of none Effect ; and fuch Ship or Veflel, and alio the Mafter or other Per- fon, having or taking Charge of fuch Ship or Veflel, and all others concerned, (hall be liable and fubjeot to all and every the fame Penalties and Forfeitures as they would have been fubject and liable to in cafe this Act had not been made. VI. And in order to difcover whether any Goods before mentioned and herein Vefore enumerated, be- Officersofthe fides Sugars, have, contrary to this Act, been taken or laden on Board any Ship or Veflel as (hail lade p^vereci tsfex- Sugars by virtue of fuch Licence, and (hall touch at fome Port of Great Britain-, in order to proceed to amine fuf^eftai foreign Parts ;. Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if the Commiiiioners of his Ma- Ships, jelly's Cuftoms in Great Britain refpectively, or the Cuftomer or Collector and Comptroller of the Port where fuch Ship or Veflel (hall touch, fhail, upon Information on Oath, have fuffieient Caufe to fuf- peet that fome enumerated Goods, other than Sugars, are on Board fuch Ship or Veflel, and (hall thereupon judge it neceflary to take out or unlade the Goods from any fuch Ship or Veflel, .or any Part thereof ; in fuch Cafe it (hall and may be lawful for any Officer or Officers of his Majefty's Cuf- toms, or any Perfon or Perfons employed by them, to enter and remain on Board fuch Ship or Vefie],. and to unlade the fame, or any Part thereof, as they (hall judge iieceifary, to finable them to examine B b b 2 any
