" An Aft for granting to his Majefty the Sum of one million out of the Sinking Fund, and for applying other Sums therein mentioned, for the Service of the Year one thou- fand feven hundred and forty-one ; and for allowing a Drawback of the Duties upon Coals ufed in Fire Engines for draining Tin and Copper Mines in the County of Cornwall; and for appropriating the Supplies granted in this Sefiion of Parliament ; and for making forth Duplicates of Exchequer Bills, Lottery Tickets, and Orders, loft, burnt, or other- wife deftroyed ; and for giving further Time for the Payment of Duties omitted to be paid for the Indentures and Contracts of Clerks and Apprentices. Moji Gracious Sovereign, WE your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain in Parlia- Preamble, ment aflembled, being defirous not only to raife fuch Supplies as are neceffary to enable your Majefty to carry on the prefent War with Succefs, but alfo to ufe fuch Ways and Means therein, ■as that your Majefty may have the better and more fpeedy Effect of the faid Supplies, have refol- ved to give and grant unto your Majefty the Sum of one million, out of the Surplufles, Exceffes and Overplus Monies, commonly called The Sinking Fund, towards the Supply granted to your Ma- jefty for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty-one; and to that End and Purpofe do moft humbly befeech your Majefty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tem- poral, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament aiTembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That Treafury to if- by or out of fuch Monies as now are, or mall from time to time be and remain in the Receipt of <V e out of the. the Exchequer, of the faid Surplufles, Excefles and Overplus Monies, commonly called the Sinking f '[^"j^i. ' Fund (after paying or referving fufRcient to pay all fuch Sum and Sums of Money as have been direct- ' ed by any former Act or Acts of Parliament to be paid out of the fame) there lTiall and may be iflued, and applied a Sum not exceeding the faid Sum of one million, for and towards the Supply granted to his Majefty, for the Service of the faid Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty-one ; and the Commiflioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or the high Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiflioners of the Treafury for the time being, are hereby authorized and im powered to ifliie and apply the fame accordingly. II. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the Sum of thirty -nine thoufand five Other Sums hundred eighty-eight Pounds ten Shillings and ten Pence three Farthings, now remaining in the Re- appropriated to ceipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, granted for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and 'he prefent ' forty, but not applied for the Service of that Year; and alfo the Sum of eleven thoufand four hundred Year, thirty-four Pounds and four Shillings, remaining in his Majefty's Exchequer, referved to be difpofed of by the Authority of Parliament, fhall and may be iflued and applied as Part of his Majefty's Supply granted for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty-one ; any Law, Statute or Provifion to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding.
