Salt Tax. three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the time being, by Warrant under their Handg to permit and fuffer any Perlbn or Perfons, Body or Bodies Politick or Corporate, to advance and lend to his Majeity at the Receipt of his Exchequer, fo much Money as together with the Monies then re- maining in the faid Exchequer of the faid Surpluses, Exceffes or Overplus Monies commonly called The Sinking Fund, fhall be wanting to compleat the faid Sum of one Million, upon Credit of the grow- ing Produce of the faid Surpluffes, Exceffes or Overplus Monies, and to be repaid out of the fame as they fhall quarterly afterwards arife, together with an Intereft for the Forbearance thereof in the mean Time, after a Rate not exceeding three Pounds ten Shillings per Centum per Annum ; any thing herein before contained to the contrary notwithftanding. V. Provided always, and be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Monies coming into the Exchequer, either by Loans or Exchequer Bills, upon one Act of this Seffion of Parlia- ment, intituled, An Ac! for granting an Aid to his Majejly by a Land Tax, to be railed in Great Britain for the Service of the Year one th ouf and f even hundred and forty -one, and fo much Money (if any fuch be) of the Tax thereby granted, as fhall arife or remain, after all the Loans or Exchequer Bills made or to be made on the fame Act, and all the Intereft, Premium, or Rate and Charges thereon, and the Charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid Land Tax, (hall be fatisfied, or Money fufficient fhall be referved in the Exchequer to difcharge the fame ; and all the Monies coming into the Exchequer either by Loans or Exchequer Bills, upon one other Act of this Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Ac! for continuing the Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called Eng- land, and for granting to his Majejly certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty-one, and fo much Money- (if any fuch be) of the Duties thereby granted and as fhall arife or remain after all the Loans or Exchequer Bills made or to be made on the fame Act, and all the Intereft, Premium, or Rate and Charges thereon, and the Charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid Duties fhall be fatisfied or Money fufficient fhall be referved in the Exchequer to difcharge the fame; and ail the Monies coming into the Exchequer, either by Loans or Exchequer Bills, upon one other Act of this Seffion of Parlia- ment, intituled, An Aft for granting and continuing the Duties upon Salt, and upon Red and Wlnte Her- rings, for the further Term of feven Years, and for allowing Rock Salt to be ufed in making Salt from Sea ' Water at the Salt Works at Meath in the County of Glamorgan ; and'fo much Money (if any fuch be) of the Duties thereby granted and continued, as fhall arife or remain after all the Loans or Exchequer Bills made or to be made on the fame Act, and all the Intereft, Premium or Rate and Charges thereon, and the Charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid Duties fhall be fatisfied, or A4oney fufficient 'fhall Money remain- be referved in the Exchequer to difcharge the fame ; and alfo the Sum of thirty-nine thoufand five hun- chlque'r. 6 Ex " dred eighty-eight Pounds ten Shillings and ten Pence three farthings, granted for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty, but not applied for the Service of that Year; and the Sum of eleven thoufand four hundred and thirty-four Pounds four Shillings, remaining in the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, referved to be difpofed of by Authority of Parliament ; and the Sum of one million by this Act granted as aforefaid, fhall be further appropriated and applied, and are here- by appropriated for and towards the feveral Ufes, Intents and Purpofes herein after expreffed, fubject neverthelefs to fuch Reftrictions as are herein after prefcribed ; that is to fay, lo^'fOTNa'ai' ^" ^ ' s nere by enacted and declared, That out of all or any the Aids or Supplies aforefaid, there (hail and may be iffued and applied any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding two millions two hundred fixty-four thoufand fix hundred ninety-one Pounds ten (hillings and ten Pence, for or towards the na- val Services herein after more particularly expreffed ; (that is to fay) For or towards defraying the Charge of the Ordinary of his Majefty's Navy, and for Half-pay to Sea Officers, for or towards Victuals, Wages, Wear and Tear of the Navy, and the Victualling thereof, performed and to be per- son;]. 18 s. formed; and for or towards Sea Services in the Office of Ordnance, performed and to be performed. 8 d. for Tranf- VII. VIII. And it is hereby alfo enacted, That out of all or any the Aids or Supplies as aforefaid, there fhall and may be iffued and applied any Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding ten thoufand Pounds, upon Account, for or towards the Support of the Royal Hofpital at Greenwich, and for the better Maintenance of the Seamen of the faid Hofpital, worn out and become decrepit in the Service of their Country. 191,2961. 4 s.
