Provided always, That nothing in this Aft contained fliall be conftrued to inflift any Penalty u on any Perfon for felling, or expofing to Sale, any Silver Wire, or Silver or Gold Thread, or any La or Fringe, on or before the twenty-fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and forty-tw though the fame be not made according to the Rules and Directions of this Aft ; provided Proof be ma by Oath of one or more credible Witnefs or Witneffes, before fome Juftice of Peace of the County, Cit, Riding, Divifion, or Place where the fame fliall be fold, or expofed to Sale (which Oath the faid Juiti. is hereby impowered and required to adminifter) that fuch Goods are really and bona fide the Manufactu of this Kingdom, and were made on or before the faid firft Day of July. O R further limiting or reducing the Number of Officers capable of fitting in the Houfe of Commons Be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of th Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Autho Description of rity of the fame, That from and after the DiiTolution, or other Determination of this prefent Parliameni Officers not ad- no p er f on wn o fhall be Commiffioner of the Revenue in Ireland, or Commiffioners of the Navy or Victu ailing Offices, nor any Deputies or Clerks in any of the faid' Offices, or in any of the feveral Office following ; that is to fay, The Office of Lord High Treafurer, or the Commiffioners of the Treafury, of the Auditor of the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, or of the Tellers of the Exchequer, or of thi Chanceller of the Exchequer, or of the Lord High Admiral, or the Commiffioners of the Admiralty, o of the Paymafters of the Army, or of the Navy, or of his Majefty's Principal Secretaries of State, or the Commiffioners of the Salt, or of the Commiffioners of the Stamps, or of the Commiffioners of Ap peals or of the Commiffioners of Wine Licences, or of the Commiffioners of Hackney Coaches, or the Commiffioners of Hawkers and Pedlars, nor any Perfons having any Office, Civil or Military, withii the Ifland of ATinorca, or in Gibraltar, other than Officers having Commiffions in any Regiment then only, fliall be capable of being elected, or of fitting or voting as a Member of the Houfe of Commons, ii any Parliament which fhall be hereafter fummoned and holden.^ II. -And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon hereby difabled or de- clared to be incapable to fit or vote in any Parliament hereafter to be holden, fhall nevertheless be re- turned as a Member to fcrve for any County, Stewartry, City, Borough, Town, Cinque Port, or Plac< in Parliament, fuch Election and Return are hereby enafted and declared to be void to all Intents anc Purpofes whatfoever : And if any Perfon difabled, and declared incapable by this Aft to be elected fhall, after the Diffolution, or other Determination of this prefent Parliament, prefume to fit or vote a: a Member of the Houfe of Commons in any Parliament to be hereafter fummoned, fuch Perfon fo fitting or voting, fhall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds for every Day in which he fhall fit or vote in the faic Houfe of Commons, to fuch Perfon or Perfons who fliall fue for the fame in any of his Majefty's Courts at JVeftminfter ; and the Money fo forfeited fhall be recovered by the Perfons fo fuing, with ful Cofts of Suit, in any of the faid Courts, by Aftion of Debt, Bill, Plaint or Information, in which nci Effoin, Privilege, Proteftion, or Wager of Law fhall be allowed, and only one Imparlance, and {hall from thenceforth be incapable of taking, holding, or enjoying any Office of Honour or Profit under his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors.
