And for the better enabling the faid United Company of Merchants of England, trading to the Eafl Indies, to raife and pay the faid Sum of one million to his Majefly's Ufe as aforefaid ; It is ' hereby India Company enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall be, lawful' for. the faid United Company under thur may borrow an common Seal, to borrow any Sum or Sums of Money from time to time, .upon Account of their "Stock equivalent Sum and Fund, fo as the Sum total of all the principal Monies, which at any one Time fhall be owing upon ^ dtr ^ C1 c ca | the Security of the faid Seal, do not exceed one million over and above the Monies which might lawfully be borrowed thereupon, before the making of this prefent Act. And in regard it is intended that at any Time of Times after the faid twenty-fifth Day of March

And it is hereby further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That notwithftanding fuch Redemp- Company to have tion of the faid Annuities or yearly Funds of one hundred and twenty-eight thoufand Pounds, and thirty ;L n *i xclufiv (j thoufand Pounds as aforefaid, the faid United Company of Merchants of England trading to the Eaft-.-^ ,j n j° e ^ e Indies, fhall (fubject to the Provifo of Determination herein after contained) have, ufe and enjoy, and fuall continue to have, ufe and enjoy the whole, fole, and exclufive Trade and Traflick, and the only 'Liberty, Ufe and Privilege of trading, trafficking and exercifing the Trade or Bufinefs of Merchandize, •in, to and from the Eajl Indies, and in, to and from all the Iflands, Ports, Havens, Coafts, Cities, Towns •and Places between the Cape of Good Hope and Streights of Magellan, and Limits in the faid Act of the •ninth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefly King William the Third, or in the faid Charter of the fifth Day of September in the tenth Year of his faid Majefty's Reign mentioned, in as ample and be- neficial Manner as the faid Company could thereby or otherwife lawfully trade thereto ; and the faid Eafl Indies, or the Iflands, Havens, Coafts, Ports, Cities, Towns and Places within the Limits aforefaid, •or any of them, fhall' not from henceforth at -any Time before fuch Determination of the faid Pole and whole Trade of the faid United Company of Merchants of England trading to the Eafl Indies, as is here- in after mentioned, be repaired or failed to, vifited, frequented, or haunted by any other the Subjects of- •. -.' .
