' XIIL And whereas it is neceffary that the faid Governor and Company fhould be enabled to ferve ' the Publick in fuch Way and Manner as fhall be moil fafe and convenient for them ;' Be it therefore enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and maybe lawful to and for the faid Governor and The Bank maj Company of the Bank of England, and their Succeflbrs, in cafe they fhall think fit, and not otherwife, further enlaige to admit and take in by Sale, Call, or Subfcription (or by fuch other Ways or Means as they fhall judge t,lelr 9S8'»J " proper) from fuch Perfon or Perfons, and upon fuch Terms and Conditions, and at fuch Times as XehciT* '° they fhall think proper, for enlarging their prefent Capital to any Sum, not exceeding the further Sum of nine hundred and eighty-fix thoufand eight hundred Pounds additional Stock (over and above what they are impowered to create by any former Aft or Afts of Parliament in that Behalf) and from time to time, in a General Court, to declare, order, and make the fame or any Part thereof (and from fuch Time or Times as fuch General Court fhall order and direft) to be added to the prefent Capital Stock of the faid Governor and Company ; and that then, and from thenceforth, fuch Monies fliall be deemed and taken, to all Intents and Purpofes, as and for Part of the Capital Stock of the faid Governor and Com- pany ; and the Capital Stock of the faid Governor and Company fliall be proportionably enlarged thereby ; Subfcribers;-&c, and that all and every the Perfon and Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, who fhall fubferibe, anfwer, or pay to the Loan, to in any Sum or Sums of Money, or for whom any Sum or Sums of Money fhall have been fubferibed, an- h ? deemed as fwered, or paid in as aforefaid, towards the making up the faid further Sum of nine hundred and eighty- f e t h e Company, fix thoufand eight hundred Pounds. Stock, or fuch Part thereof for which the faid Governor and Com- pany fhall take in Subfcriptions or make fuch Sale, Call, or other Demand as aforefaid, and who fliall have paid to the faid Governor and Company the Sum fo fubferibed, or outherwife demanded as afore^ faid ; and the Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns of fuch Perfon and Perfons refpeftively, fhall be, and be deemed, and reputed to be Members of, and united to, and incorporated with the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, and fhall at all Times, together with the other Members of the faid Corporation and Body Politick, and their Succeflbrs refpeftively, be, and be adjudged, conftrued, reputed, accepted, and taken to be one Body Politick and Corporate, by the Name ot The Governor and Company of the Bank o/Tngland, fubjeft to the fame Rules, Orders, and Regulations, and infilled to the fame Privileges, Advantages, and Immunities, with the prefent Members of the faid Corporation ; and. that all Executors, Adminiftrators, Guardians, and Truftees, fhall be indemnified in making any fuch ' Payments
