Bleachersof XVI. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Perfons who fhall praftife the Linen, Trade of Whitening or Bleaching of Linen Cloth in the Piece, fo as to bleach or whiten a Qiiaiuity of Cloth, which fliall be of the Value of five hundred Pounds Sterling, in the Courfe of one Y'ear ; and alfo. and Mailers of a]) Perfons who fhall keep any publick Lapping-prefs or Lapping-houfe, fliall rcfpeftively firft give fuf- tif'^Mre^SecunT' ficient Security to the faid Truftecs, to the Extent of one hundred Pounds Sterling for evcTry fuch " ^'^ ■ "^'"" ^' Bleacher, and of fifty Pounds Sterling for every Keeper or Mailer of fuch publick Lapping-prefs and Lapping-houfe, for their faithful Performance of the faid Trades ; and alfo for making good any Damage which may arife to their refpeftive Employers, by any Negleft or Want of Skill in the Exercife of either Truftees to grant of fuch Trades ; and the faid Truftees are hereby required, upon their Acceptance of fuch refpeftive Se- i.icenccs upon curities, to grant Licences under their Hands and Seals to fuch Perfons, impowering them to exercife Security given, ^-^g f^jj refpeftive Trades ; and that no Fee, Reward or Gratuity whatfoever, fliall be demanded or taken, for or upon account of giving any fuch Security, or of granting fuch Licence; and that if an- Perfon or Perfons fliall without fuch Licence bleach or whiten a Qiiantity of Cloth, which fhali be of the Value of five hundred Pounds Sterling, in the Courfe of one Year, or fhall keep and ufe any publick Penalty on tin- Lappine-prefs or Lapping-lioufe, fuch Perfon or Perfons fliall rcfpeftively forfeit, vidlicct; fuch Blca- licenfed Blca- chct or Whitener, the Sum of one hundred Pounds Sterling; and fuch Mailer and Keeper of a publick cners, c.
