An A£l for the further continuing an Afl made in the laft SefTion of Psrliament, intituled. An A£l to impower his Majejly to fecure and detain fuch Pcrfons as his Majejly Jhall fiiJpeSi are confpiring againjl his Per/on and Government. EXP. HERE AS a wicked and unnatural Rebellion being begun in that Part of this Kingdom called Scotland, by divers of his Majefty's Subjects, encouraged by his Enemies Abroad, in order to fet a Popifh Pretender upon the Throne, to the utter Deftruftion of the Pioteftant Religion, and the Laws and Liberties of this free Conftitution, an Aft pafled in the laft Seflion of Par- >9 Ces, i.e. t, liament, intituled, Jn ASl to impozver bis Mojcfly to fcairc and detain fuch Per/on as his Majejly Jhall fufpcfl are confpirin^ ogaitijl his Per/on and Government ; and the faid Aift is thereby declared to continue until the nineteenth Day of Jpril in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix : And where- 19 Geo.i.c. 17, as one other A€t pafTcd in the fame Seffioii of Parliament, intituled, jin All for continuing an Atl of this prefent SeJJion of Parliament, intituled. An h6k to impower his Majefty to fecure and detain fuch Perfons as his Majefty fhall fufpefl; are confpiring againft his Perfon and Government; whereby it was enafled. That the faid firft mentioned Act, and all and every the Claufes, Provifoes, Powers and Authorities therein contained, ftiould continue and remain in full Force and Vigour, from and after the faid nine- teenth Day of April for and until the twentieth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix, and no longer : And whereas it is necefiary for the Publick Safety, that the faid firft recited Act fhould be further continued :' Now, for the better Prefervation of his Majefty's Sacred Perfon, and for fccuring the Peace of this Kingdom in this particular Conjundture, againft all traiterous Attempts and Cohfpiracies v/hatfoever; Be in enafted, bfc.
