PR. WHEREAS by an Aft of Parliament made and pafTed in the eighth and ninth Years of the Reign s & 9 w. 3. of his late Majefty King JVilliani the Third, intituled. An A^ for the Repair of the Piers a/Brid- <■. 2f . lington, ff//(jj Burlington, in the Eafl Riding of the County of York, it was amongff othejr Things enafted, That from and after the firf'c Day oi May one thoufand fix hundred and ninUy-feven, and before and until the firft Day of May one thoufand fcven hundred and four, the Duties therein m?ntioned fhould be paid for the rebuilding, repairing and amendijig the faid Piers ; to wit, one Farthing for every Chal- dron of Coals, that during the faid Term fliould be laden on board any Ship, Hoy, Bark or other Veftel, at or in the Port of Neivcqfle upon Tine, or at Sunderland, Blythe, Seaton-Sluice, Culler-Coats, or any other Port, Harbour, Colliery, or Place that was or was reputed to be a Member of the Port of Newcajlte; and to be paid to fuch Perfons and in fuch Manner as by the fidd Aft is direfted ; and by i Geo. r. c.49. another Aft made and pafled in the firft Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George the Firft, referring to the faid former Aft, all the Duties thereby granted and made payable, and every Claufe, Matter and Thing therein contained were revived and enacted, and direfted to be continued and paid for fourteen Years, from the twenty-fourth Day offline one thoufand feveii hundred and fixteen, until the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven liundred and thirty : And whereas by one other Adt made 5 Geo. i. c ic, in the fifth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefty King George the Firft, intituled, An Ail for enlarging the Time granted by two ASls of Parliament for Repairs of the Piers a/Bridlington, alias Burlington ; and' for * making the faid Afts more effeSiud; it is thereby (amongft other Things) enacted.
