' tuled, An ASl to amend and make more effeElual the Laves relating to Rogues, Vagabonds and other idle and dif- ' orderly Perfons, and to Houfes of Correction ; it is enadted. That all Rogues, Vagabonds and incorrigible ' Rogues fent by Pafies from one County, Riding, Divifion, Corporation orFranchife, into any other ' County, Riding, Divifion, Corporation or Franchife, fhall be delivered to the Conftable or other fuch Oflicer ' of the firft Town, Parifh or Place in the next County, Riding, Divifion, Corporation or Franchife, to be ' by him conveyed forward in fuch manner as by the faid Adt is diredted ; and that the Allowances to be ' m.ade to the Conftables and other fuch Officers for the conveying of fuch Rogues, Vagabonds and incor- ' rigible Rogues, fhall be paid by the High or Chief Conftables, and that fuch High or Chief Conftables ' fhall be allowed the fame by the Treafurer of the refpedtive County, Riding, Liberty, Divifion, Corpo- ' ration orFranchife, on his pafling his Accounts : And whereas it frequently happens that the High or ' Chief Conftables have not a Sum of Money in their Hands fufficient to anfwer the faid Expences ;' Be it therefore enadted by the Authority aforefaid. And whereas the Prifon of the Marjhalfea of the Court of King's Bench is in its prefent Condition unfafe for the Cuftody, and dangerous to the Health of the Prifoners, which Inconveniencies cannot be remedied, unlefs the laid Prifon be repaired or rebuilt : And whereas it will he necefl'ary to have fome pro- per and convenient Place or Places provided for the Reception of the Prifoncrs in the mean time, where- upon Doubts may arife concerning the Legality of the Imprilbnment of fuch Prifoners in fuch other Place or Places ;' Therefore to prevent fuch Doubts, be it enadted and declared by the Authority aforefaid.
