And whereas divers wicked and malicious Perfons have wilfully damnified, fpoiled and deftroyed, ' fundry Nets, Sails, Cordage, Stores and other Materials, of and belonging to the faid Society, to the great '. Prejudice and Lofs of the Society :' Therefore for preventing fuch Violences and Outrages for the future, Penalty of treble and for bringing all Oftenders in the Premiffes to more fpeedy and exemplary Juftice, Be it further enafted VaU.efoideftroy- ^y jj^g Authority aforcfaid. That if any Perfon or Perfons ftiall hereafter wilfully damnify, fpoil or deftroy, thrNett^^o'SM '^^^hout theCohfent of the faid Society, any of the Nets, Sails, Cordage, Stores or other Materials, of or orthe Society, belonging to the faid Society, every fuch Offender, being thereof lawfully convifted upon the Oath or Oaths of two or more credible Witnefs or Witnefles, before any one or more Juftices of the Peace for the. County, City, Town or Place, where fuch Offence fhall be committed, upon any Information exhibited, or Profccution, within fix Calendar Months after the Offence committed (which Oaths the faid Juftices are hereby impowered and required to adminifter) fliall forfeit and pay to the faid Society treble the Value of fuch Nets, Sails, Cordage, Stores or other Materials, fo damnified, fpoiled or deftroyed, to be levied w be levied by by Diftrefs and Sale of the Ofteaders Goods and Chattels, by Warrant or Warrants under the Hands and. Dittrcfs and Sale.
