An Aft for draining and prefervlng certain Fen Lands, Low Grounds and Commons in the Townfhips or Hamlets of March and Wimblington^ and in the Farifh of Upwell in the JJle of Ely and County oi Cambridge. WHEREAS certain Fen Lands, Low Grounds and Commons, lying and being in the fevera) Townfhips or Hamlets of March and IVimhlington^ and in the Parilh of Upwell, in the Jjk of Ely in the County oi Cambridge, containing in the whole eleven thoufand Acres, or thereabouts, an.i which are bounded as follows ; that is to fay. From March Bridge North-eaftward, along the South-eail Bank of the River Nene, to the Lands belonging to fames Collier Efquire, and from thence Eailward by the Bank belonging to the faid fatries Collier Efquire, to the Eaft Side oi Well or March Pingle, and from thence Southward by the faid Bank, to a Piece of Land called March Town Piece, and from thence Eaftward by the faid Bank, to a certain Drain called Thurloe's Drain or The Sixteen Foot ; and along that Drain on the Weft Side thereof, to the Bank on the Northward Side of the Lands belonging to the faid fames Collier, now or late in the Occupation of Robert Glenton, and by that Bank to Lord Toivn- Jhend's Lands, and by the faid Bank on the Side of Lord Townjhend's Lands to Horfemore Severals, cal- led The Thirties ; and from thence by the Eaft Side of Horfefnore Thirties and Horfemore Fifties, to the Lands lately belonging to Thomas i^^W Efquire; and from thence Weftward, between Horfemore Fifties and the Lands lately belonging to the faid Thomas Revel to lVi?tiblington Lots ; and from thence South- ward, between JVifnblington Lots and the faid Lands lately belonging to the faid Thomas Revel, and Bar- ber s Lot to the Gravel Bank, and by that Bank on the North Side thereof, to a Place called The Hcok ; and from thence along the Common on the North Side of Dorrcll's Bank to Sir Thomas Peyton s Dole, and fo to Mill Hill; and from thence along the Edge of the low Parts of the Commons and Greens cal- led Stow Fen and Town End Green, to the South Bank of the faid River Nene ; and along the faid Bank Weftward, to a certain antient Sewer called The Hith or Hive-, and from thence by the Edge of the Hardlands to Ranfonmoor Bank ; and along the North Side of that Bank to Mafter Collier's Bank ; and along the Eaft Side of that Bank, to the River Nene aforefaid ; and along the South Side of that River to March Bridge; and from thence on the North Side of the faid River Nene Weftward, to Lands be- longing to Eleanor and Sarah Hake; and from thence, excluding thofe Lands, to Shaw's Dike; and along Shaw's Dike to Bevil's Leam; and along the faid Leam to Hob's Drain; and along Hob's Drain to Maoris Drain; and from thence Eaftward, along the faid Drain to the faid River Nene; and from thence South Eaftward, along the North Bank of the faid River to March Bridge, are frequently very much annoyed with Waters, through the Defeat of their Outfalls to Sea, to the great Damage and Impove- rifhment of the Owners of fuch Lands, and to the Lofs of the Publick : And whereas the faid Fen Lands, Low Grounds and Commons, cannot be drained and preferved without the Aid of Parliament;' May it therefore pleafe your Majefty, that it may be ena£led ; and be it enaded by the King's moft Ex- Lands to be di- cellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Com- vided into fix mons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That for the better and D*"^'* more effeftual Execution of the Purpofes of this ASt, the faid Fen Lands, Low Grounds and Commons, ihall be and are hereby divided into fix Diftrids : And that the Lands and Grounds which are bounded The firftDiflrict^ and defcribed as follows; that is to fay. From March Bridge North Eaftward, along the South Eaft Bank of the River Nene, *s far as the Lands belonging to fames Collier Efquire; and from thence Eaftward, by the Bank belonging to the faid fames Collier, to the Eaft Side of TFell or March Pingle ; and from thence Southward, by the faid Bank, to a Piece of Land czW&H March Town Piece; and by the Weft End of fuch Piece of Land to the Outring Ditch, between Bynnimoore Common and the Bedlam Lands, and along the Weft Side of fuch Ditch to Horfemore Severals called The Thirties ; and from thence, by the Eaft Side of Horfetnore Thirties and Horfemore Fifties, to the Lands lately belonging to Thomas Revel Efquire ; and from thence Weftward, between Horjemore Fifties and the Lands lately belonging to the faid Thomas Revel .to Wimblington Lots; and from thence Southward, between Wimblington Lots and the faid Lands lately be- longing to the faid Thomas Revel, and Barber's Lot, to the Gravel Bank, and along the faid Gravel Bank, on the North Side thereof, and excluding the fame Bank, to a Place called The Hook; and from thence along the Common on the North Side oi Dorrell's Bank, excluding the faid Bank, to Sir Thomas Peyton^ s Dole, in- cluding the faid Do4e ; and along the South Side of the faid Dole, to a Place called Mill Hill, and from thence [ along the Edge of the low Parts of the Commons and Greens called Stow Fen and Town-end Green, with the Great zrid Little Hur/l, JVich Fen and foan Saddjhole, including the faid low Parts of the faid Commons and Greens, and fo to the SouthBank of the faid Kw^xNene, and to MarchBridge; and all the Lands and Grounds Iv-ing within the faid Boundaries, containing in the whole two thoufand five hundred Acres, or there- abouts, (hull be deemed the firft of the faid Diftricts : And that the Lands and Grounds which are bound- Second Diftricti ed and defcribed as follows; that is to fay.
