And whereas feveral Bills commonly called Exchequer Bilhy feveral Tickets commonly called Lottery Tickets^ feveral Orders and Certificates made forth in lieu of the faid Lottery Tickets, and likewife for Annuities of divers Kinds, payable at or near the Receipt of his Majefty's Exche- quer (as alfo feveral Receipts of the Cafluers of the Governor and Company of the Bank oi Eng- land or fome of them, for Money contributed there for the Purchafe of Annuities transferrable in the Books of the faid Governor and Company, have by Cafualty or Mifchance been loft, burnt, or otherwife deftroyed, which Exchequer Bills, Lottery Tickets, Certificates, Receipts, Annuity Orders, and other Orders, of the refpe6tive Denominations aforefaid, were made forth by and in purfuance of feveral A£ts of Parliament in that Behalf; Be it therefore enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That in all Cafes where it iTiall appear by Affidavit to be made, before any of the B a- Proper Officers to make rons of the Exchequer for the Time being (who fliall interrogate the Deponent thereupon) to the forth Duplicates of Ex- Satisfaaion of fuch Baron or Barons, that any fuch Exchequer Bills, or any fuch Tickets, Certifi- chequer Bills, Tickets, cates. News Papers, Advertifements, and Almanacks and upon Licences for retailing Wine ; and upon Coals ex- ported ta Foreign Parts ; and for applying, from a certain 'Time, the Sums of Msney arifingfrom the Sur- _ phis of the Duties ofi Licences for retailing Spirituous Liquors ; and for rcdfing the Sum of three millions, by , Annuities, to be charged on the faid Rates, Duties, and Sums of Money ; an d for making perpetual an Atii jnade in the fecond Tear of the Reign of his prefent Majefly, intituled. An Ad for the better Regulation of Attornies and Solicitors ; and for enlarging the Titne for filing Affidavits of the Execution of Contrails of Clerks to Attornies and Solicitors j and alfo the Time for Payment of the Dutiis o?nitted to be paid for the Indentures and ContraSis of Clerks and Apprentices', It was among other Things enacted.
